Very exciting. Hopefully she hasn't kept up some of the strange stuff like on 'My Best Friend is You' and has gone back to her 'Made Of Bricks' roots.

That won't happen, unfortunately. She made a lengthy blog post in the past about how people always want her to make a Made of Bricks Part II but she'd never do it because she likes to try new stuff out all the time and artists change etc.

 

Plus, I think she's too much of a punk feminist now to go back.

The EP will include Fri-end? and the title track Death Proof by the way. I wonder how many songs it will have, can a 7" have more than 2 tracks?

I'm really interested to hear this. I'm hoping it's not too much like Fri-end (as much as I liked it). Gonna pledge nonetheless.

It's quite simple really. Projects are launched to help in recording/producing/manufacturing/marketing an album by offering exclusive goodies along with the album itself and when the goal is reached, it means the project is successful and the items have to be released within the deadline (in this case it's March 2013). The amount of CDs produced is totally up to the artist I guess, but I think they're still available on the site even after the release.

 

In Kate's case the project has no money goal because Girl Talk is already finished and they only have to manufacture the CD/Vinyls.

Janet Devlin's also going to release her album through Pledge Music, and its worked out very successfully for her so far! She's already at 38% of her target in just 2 weeks, so it looks like a good way for Kate to release her album too.

This actually wasn't as horrible as I thought it would be.

I do miss the Made of Bricks era but i'm looking forward to hearing this.

It's a lot better than I expected but it's still absolutely NOWHERE near Made of Bricks or My Best Friend Is You. It's a nice listen but she seems to shout half of each song...

Everythings a little too shouty... however I do love "May Queen".

I like the first half of the album - literally. First 2 songs and a half. Rest is okay.
