It is just one month until the end of the year when I will be counting down the best 100 songs of 2012. If you follow my charts regularly you may have an idea of what will end up at #1 in my year-end chart, but I know that most of you don't - so enjoy my year end chart and comment on anything you love :heart:

 

Firstly, I will be counting down the 20 songs that I didn't really like this year, then I will be revealing my favourite album of the year.

Starting off the Hate 20 is Beyoyo with her most recent top 20 hit. This song has too many key changes for my liking and she really oversings this. Thankfully since this song she hasn't had another massive single as she is busy feeding her baby at the moment whilst Jay-Z is making loads of money so that she doesn't have to. Of course her career isn't over just yet but we should be enjoying this break while it lasts.

Far East Movement's first of two entries in the chart. This was their second single of their latest album. What puts me off the song the most is the fact that the chorus and the verses do not fit in together, making it sound like two seperate songs. What happened to FEM since Like A G6. I'm yet to hear a good song from them since that. More on them later.

One Direction's first of two entries in the chart, however they may as well be the same song because they use the same formula as each other and What Makes You Beautiful. This song is very poor and I'm glad that they've bought Ed Sheeran for their new song because he knows how to write good lyrics (even though 'you can't go to bed without a cup of tea, maybe that's the reason why you talk in your sleep' is questionable)

Conor has released two good singles this year. Them being Turn Around and Can't Say No. However this was a poor attempt to re-create Can't Say No. It's terrible chart run supports the fact that the song itself is bad. The lyrics are not interesting and the beat for me is a very boring standard 2005 urban beat - this is not what we need in 2012 and thankfully Conor turned around my feelings for him with the follow up single 'Turn Around'.

Oh hello again FEM. I knew that them doing a song with the beaver would turn out to be bad - and surprise, surprise - I was right. It is a very standard party song, there were much better songs to be dancing to at the time as you'll find out when I do my top 100 loved songs of the year. Obviously I hate Bieber's part of the song, but FEM don't really add to the song by saying hell yeah dirty bass all throughout the record. I expected better from FEM after the amazing Like A G6 as I have said many times throughout 2012.

And we meet Justin Bieber for the second time in this chart. This time he ruins dubstep. Big Sean is one of the best new rappers of the year but his verse on this is the worst that I've heard from him. This song was bearable to start off with but just got very annoying over time with Bieber's "as long as you lo lo lo lo lo LO lo lo lo lo lo LO lo lo lo lo lo Love Me". Plus the lyrics 'we could be starving, we could be homeless' are very bad.

14 - Public Enemy "Harder Than You Think"

This song wasn't a hit when it was first released back in 2007 for a very good reason. Because it's terrible. Out of all the songs in the world why did they have to choose this as the theme for the Paralympic Games? The instrumental is nice but the rapping is just annoying, with them shouting "dance it like that" many times in the song. Let's leave these guys back in 1990 where they belong.

We all know why this is in my hate chart. Yes, because of Chris Brown. This is his first entry out of 3 in my hate chart. Chris has a bad habbit for turning rap songs into crap songs. (see Champion). Chris' voice just really annoys me and he takes up over half of the song with his terrible singing. Please Chris stop hurting our ears by ruining what could've been a good song.

The production is dull and Lil Wayne's rapping is uninteresting. I need a good beat to like a rap song, this song is lacking in one.

All their songs are just as boring as each other but this is more offensive as it was inescapable on Radio 1 for a few months and became their biggest chart hit to date. I don't get the massive hype for this band - they must be doing something right if they can shift 150k+ albums in their first week, but their type of music does not suit me at all. Their new song Lover of the Light is better than this, thankfully it's not doing anything chartwise or I will grow to hate it!

OK now let's get down to the five most overrated and hated songs of the past year.

 

 

05 - Chris Brown "Turn Up The Music"

The first of two Brownie entries in the top 5 hated songs. This is painfully generic along with the fact that I don't like Chris' voice, so yeah I was never going to enjoy this. 2012 marks the year when Chris scored his first UK #1 - and this is the song he did it with. This is the highest #1 on my hate list however there are 2 songs that very nearly went to the top.
