Their style of party music never fails to get me dancing. This is also the point were we say goodbye to LMFAO in my YE charts. They've been in all 3 of my YE charts so far but they've decided to take a break so no LMFAO in 2013 :( Next up it's Flux Pavilion with dubstep TUNE "Daydreamer", helped by the vocals of Example. Example also appears at #82 with Calvin Harris on "We'll Be Coming Back" which works well as a 'dance ballad' however it is only one of many Calvin entries in this chart. Inbetween the two Example songs we have R.I.O. with their cheesy club song "Turn This Club Around" with U-Jean on vocals. Finishing off the section is Christina Walls with her BJSC flop "Carry Me To Paradise". If you're reading this and you participate in BJSC: The Rejects, you know what to do. ^_^ Edited December 20, 201212 yr by Thermochristmas

At #80 is "Scream" by Usher and finishing the section is "R.I.P." from Rita Ora. Usher started his year with "Climax" which was nice enough but it was this uptempo that really got me. At #79 is will.i.am's UK #1 single "This Is Love", it is not like will.i.am to leave his urban roots but he shows us that he can rap over a club dance beat in this tune. At #78 is Madonna's comeback single that sadly flopped in the UK despite having two female rap verses. Both raps are great but I do prefer MIA's. Of course Madonna's part of the song is good too otherwise I wouldn't like it. Next up is "Beat Down" with female rapper Iggy Azalea on the vocals and Steve giving us a hard beat. Aoki introduces Annger Dimas to us in the song too - I don't have an opinion of him yet as I've only heard two songs from him (both of which feature Aoki). As I said earlier "R.I.P" is at #76. It is the first of three entries for Rita and the only entry for Tinie Tempah, due to a lack of releases from him this year. Edited December 20, 201212 yr by Thermochristmas
December 20, 201212 yr I actually quite liked Give Me All Your Luvin, and I adored R.I.P. for a few weeks before it was released. It's a shame that she never lived up to her potential though. :(

It is one of the better indie songs of the year, the loud drums and powerful singing appealing to me as well as the use of AUTOTUNE in an indie song - something I never thought would happen. Next up is Deadmau5' only entry in the chart - the chilled out "Veldt" featuring Chris James on the vocals. At #73 we have Alicia Keys. I never thought she would make a comeback as good as this, clearly she knew that I didn't want a piano ballad and instead we got this amazing song with 2 raps from Queen Nicki. At #72 is the first of two Steve Angello entries (five if you include the 3 SHM songs). Lights is such an anthem - when SHM finish touring I would love Angello to get some chart hits with songs as hard hitting as this, and another song that is still to come. Finishing off the section is Lloyd who was #45 in my chart of last year but I kept loving it into the new year, it re-entered the top 5 for a few weeks at the start of 2012. The song itself is amazing and I love the retro vibe. Unfortunately Lloyd has STILL not released a follow-up to this single. This means that Lloyd has a big chance of not appearing on my chart of 2013 after being on all my EOY charts to date. (2010 - Bedrock, 2011/12 - Dedication). At #69 is Robbie Williams with the very catchy "Candy". He proves to us that he's still got it after 20 years in the business. We have a hard hitting dubstep record at #68 from Knife Party. It sounded very nice at the festivals with the bass really loud. Finishing off the section is two members of N-Dubz. #67 is Dappy's 'Good Intentions' which grew on me lots after initially I found it boring. X Factor judge Tulisa is at #66 with UK #1 single 'Young'. Tulisa's song is the better of the two, for me, because of the dance breakdown which is found in many pop songs these days but doesn't get old. Note to Tulisa - don't make ballads and urban songs this is why you're missing the top 10. Edited December 21, 201212 yr by Thermochristmas

"Anything Could Happen" is a lovely slice of indie-pop with the catchy tagline 'anything could happen, anything could happen... etc'. I didn't think Ellie's second album would produce any goods but clearly I was wrong, her new single Figure 8 is also a nice song that will be entering my chart soon. At #64 is Kanye West "Clique" featuring raps from Big Sean and Jay-Z. They all show us why they're at the top of the rap game and why other wannabees shouldn't even try to enter their clique. Next up is Axwell from the Swedish House Mafia on the remix, showing us why he deserves to be in the mafia with an amazing dance record. DJ Fresh's first of three entries is a standard drum n' bass song made better with the vocals of RaVaughn. The song gives me such a good feeling! Finishing the section is another SHM member, this time we meet Steve Angello again with his first solo release post-SHM. The song title is appropriate because if you asked me if I really like the song I would say "Yeah!"

Her UK #1 single "Part Of Me" was too formularic for my liking but "Wide Awake" was a huge step forward, musically it is more towards "E.T." which I loved last year. Next up is Nadia Ali covering "Rapture" - a song she sang in the early 00s as part of the band iio. Avicii gave it the remix treatment and I fell in love. David Guetta and Nicki Minaj get together for the second time in the "Nothing But The Beat" era. The difference being that this time they made a great song, and there is no Flo Rida. "Turn Me On" is a great dance song but not the best from Guetta as he has a few more entries to come. At #57 is a song I really loved earlier in the year. "Colours" is a beautiful song and it fully deserved to win BJSC. Finishing this section off is another dance song - Wolfgang's only entry this year and his first #1 on my chart "Redline" is not as good as Animal Rights and Illmerica but a brilliant song anyways. Yes I never thought I'd say that but Coldplay have managed to make a good song, with the help of Rihanna. Of course this isn't their only good song but I won't go into what I like and don't like. Chris Martin and Robyn Fenty do a nice duet with great electronic synths in the background. At #54 is my most recent BJSC entry from EDX. "Touched" is a brilliantly produced dance record which somehow manages to be relaxing and dancey at the same time. Finishing the run of 5 personal chart #1s is Pitbull with "Back In Time", a song he made for Men In Black III which shows us that he's still in the rap game. DJ Fresh calls on Shy FX to freshen up 2010 hit "Gold Dust" and it lands here at #52, higher than the original got in the YE chart 2010. Ellie Goulding finishes the section off with "Lights" which I grew to love thanks to its success in the US. I took no notice of it when it flopped over here in the UK, but thankfully it was a massive hit somewhere otherwise I would'nt have listened to it.

(Ayayaya) 07 Heatwave ++++++++++ We start the second and final half of the Hot 100 with BJSC entry "Shining Heart", a lovely Romanian dance song, the production is very much like "Mr Saxobeat" which I loved last year. Laurentiu is alright but Andreea provides the best vocals of the song. We then get onto UK #2 smash by flopstar Alyssa Reid with her cover of 80s hit "Alone", retitled "Alone Again". The rap is very weak hence why I prefer the solo version that doesn't get airplay. At #48 is some hard hitting drum and bass from Netsky with BJSC entry "Love Has Gone", it unfortunately flopped - finishing in the bottom 5 of it's contest in TBO Rejects. Emeli Sande is at #47 with her best song to date, the uptempo "Next To Me". Unfortunately after this and previous single Heaven she turned dull and overrated, with songs such as "Read All About It, Pt. III", "Clown" and "My Kind Of Love" refusing to grow on me. We finish off with Wiley's first entry, the summery "Heatwave" which brought Wiley back to chart success. Edited January 2, 201312 yr by 2013 Thermometer

"We Are Young" is a great sing-along anthem. It has tired a little with overplay but it's still a tune. Next up we have Redlight with his first UK top 10 hit "Lost In Your Love". Musically it sounds a lot like previous single "Get Out My Head" but this is just that bit better, maybe it's the vocals and lyrics that get me. Or maybe because I'm so mainstream that I'm going to love the bigger hit more. We say hello to Wiley once again at #43 with follow up single "Can You Hear Me? (Ayayaya)" featuring guest raps from UK Grime Stars Skepta and JME. The guest raps make this a lot better than "Heatwave" but both are great dance tunes. Avicii is at #42 with 2011 hit "Levels" which continued to be a hit in the new year, after finishing at #8 last year. For me it is the best song that has come from 2011, even better than my EOY #1 "Party Rock Anthem". Just missing out the top 40 is "Va Va Voom" from Nicki Minaj. A nice catchy chorus with some rapping inbetween, Nicki Minaj has really improved in the year of 2012, and with songs like this she's only going to get LUV from me. Nicki has 2 entries left in this countdown. Edited January 4, 201312 yr by 2013 Thermometer

It is a generic song and nothing here is original but having said that it is an anthem, Rihanna's desperate search for her lover (let's pretend this song isn't about Brownie) is something that we can all relate to and her vocals really shine in this song. Rihanna never fails to show me why she is the world's #1 popstar and why I like her so much, this is one of the standouts of her album 'tALK That Talk'.

December 29, 201212 yr Author 39 - Cedric Gervais "Molly" UK - #26 PC Run - (8-15-36-8-1-3-3-18-16-40-x) (10 weeks) http://www.edmhub.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/5209144.jpg Cedric Gervais 01 Molly From a pop-dance song to a full on dance song, "Molly" is a fun song that doesn't take itself seriously. This is the only song in the countdown where the vocals are spoken by a robot/computer. The drop sounds like a lot of underground dance songs, the difference being that this actually made it to the mainstream - so of course I was going to get behind it. Cedric hasn't released a follow-up to this yet but I am expecting good things from him, I wouldn't mind the computer voice gimmick being used again as long as the song doesn't sound like a carbon-copy of Molly.

I cannot count the number of times she says that in the song, but it makes it very catchy. When this premiered I had my doubts about this, but it shortly became a massive global worldwide super smash hit and I grew to love it. With the help of Kanye West's remix of the song it recently jumped back into the top 10 of my chart. It is a reminder that Rhianna can pull off the urban sound and despite no club dance beats it is a great tune that we'll surely be hearing a lot of in new year's eve parties and countdowns of the top selling songs of the year. Unfortunately her new song Stay is very boring but she has many more songs on her new album that could be future chart hits for me such as Jump, Pour It Up and Right Now. December 29, 201212 yr Author 37 - Kanye West feat. This one starts off with a chilled hip-hop beat and a crazy woman who I can't understand a word of what she's saying. Then the chorus drops, a man with a deep voice talking about his lamborgini and how girls love him. It's what I like from a hip-hop song, Kanye West knows how to use a sample well - we will get more into that when his next entry comes up. Big Sean's rap on this is like part 2 of his own song "Dance (A$$)" but it works well and we get some great puns from it such as "assquake" and "assh tray". The best part of the song has to be Kanye's verse when the beat just builds up and becomes epic (yes I know that word's overused) and overall it's a great song - the only disappointment is the UK peak and lack of promotion for it here, but I'm sure Kanye doesn't care as it's massive sucess in the US is adding to his pockets. December 29, 201212 yr Author 36 - Flo Rida feat. Co-produced by Axwell of Swedish House Mafia as well as production duo SoFLY & Nius who have worked on many tracks from Flo's album of the same name - it's a great hands in the air moment. Guest vocalist of the year, Sia, who left her indie roots to team up with Flo really adds to the song, her powerful vocals make the moment more special - and as usual Flo delivers two great verses. It's very hard to not love this song in my opinion - it has sold over 600k copies in the UK.
December 29, 201212 yr Author 35 - Little Mix "Wings" UK - #1 PC Run - (28-x-30-7-9-12-9-15-21-29-47-22-16-19-25-x) (14 weeks) http://www.theprophetblog.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Little-Mix-Wings.jpg Little Mix 01 Cannonball 03 DNA 07 Wings After making the best X Factor winners' single EVER with "Cannonball" I was hoping that SyCo would treat them right and not make them flop. And they couldn't have made a better comeback, their first single from "DNA" being "Wings", an inspired single about being yourself and not getting hurt by what other people say. The subject has been done a lot recently but Little Mix do it very well, with a catchy clappy beat and some nice harmonies throughout the song as well as solos. Ever since Girls Aloud took a break we've been left with floppy girlbands Girls Can't Catch, Parade and Stooshe with The Saturdays making lots of average songs and being the only big girlband around, but Little Mix prove here that they're not just average but they can make a song that will stick in your head. I am looking forward to how well they will do with a post-album single - that is the real test of bands today, for many are frontloaded and won't even get a top 40 smash (can you imagine Stooshe and Lawson getting massive top 10 hits with future singles from their current albums. No, I can't too). And others have fallen from sucess and become a fanbase act (see JLS' and Girls Aloud's most recent flop singles "Hold Me Down" and "Beautiful 'Cause You Love Me", the former of which I haven't heard once and plan to never hear). Anyway that's more than enough on ranting about floppy bands, let's congratulate Little Mix on making a good pop song that deserves its place in my chart.
