I would go so far to say his solo work is more likely to be never aired again. While some material flopped, especially the 12 months 11 days era, forever love was a decent number 1 selling single at the time and it is still quiet a nice ballad that has aged well. So an airing of such a song would be a good move.
Its a shame there wasnt even a budget style best of released, it would have probably sold alright after the show aired as well and maybe charted decently on the budget album chart. Most artists have a cheap best of available so it is a shame gary doesnt, likewise with mark. I wonder will we ever get an evening with Mark Owen?

We won't ever get a tv airing of his solo song(s) now, the chance was there at his own solo gig and he didn't push for it obviously. So unless he releases solo material in the future which will at the earliest be 2015 due to TT commitments I wouldn't expect anything.

I definitely can see a mark Owen evening! Only problem is that he will definitely need to use TT material..,but he only sings on babe and shine as sole lead vocalist in terms of commercially and chart successful songs. His voice won't be able to pull off greatest day, never forget or patience so he'll be limited in choice. He might not want it at all though, he might just want to get the album out there for creative purposes. Or possibly do what gary is doing tourwise but wants fresh material to perform. Again, mark has maybe 4 songs at a push that were successful as a solo act as with his TT contribution probably limited to about 5 songs as well, (shine, babe, hold up a light, up all night and possibly kidz) in terms of solo vocals not writing he may want to get some new tracks under his belt for the odd concert. I just hope it goes top 10 in the album and has a good lead single like 4 minute warning. Wonder whether Gary and the others will be credited as writers or producers...

To be honest i can never see anything solo by Mark ever making the top 10 again, i think making the top 40 would be the very best outcome for him. I think mark does the solo stuff for creative purposes as he really doesnt push his solo music too much, gets hardly no promotion and the releases are very low key. As for an evening with style show, he has enough solo material to do a show although he doesnt have a huge amount of solo hits, i mean i think 10 tracks would cover the show for him so between his solo hits and one or other solo tracks mixed with his lead take that songs i think he could pull it off, only thing is i dont think any of the main channels would be interested in such a show on mark.
Unless it was like a '... & friends' format. I can't see a single doing much but I think his album should be ok, and at least should be his highest peaking album. But I think it'll be heavily frontloaded. If he releases when sales are as high then a top 10 could happen
I would like to belive he could get a top 10 but with the way his album have performed i personely i cant see it happening, but if he released it and did manage to get a mark owen and friends style show it may just happen.
Problem is whether it will effect the TT writing/promoting/producing process at all, he really should of released this last year rather than cram it into a TT calendar year. Gary and even robbie to some extent did their solo ventures last year and have this year put aside for TT. Would of made more sense for mark to tour the album now or late 2012 but there you go
I would think Mark used the time to write and produce his solo material and maybe his plan his when take that return he has more exposure and and a result his album will get more exposure.

I don't think any of them will do anything to jeopardise the brand Take That - not when their next album / tour is coming up soon(ish). I think if Mark did release anything concurrently with any new TT material - then it would be seen (as it would be) as just playing on Brand Take That. I personally think Mark has more integrity than that. For his fans - I'd hope he'd possibly do a tour or something - but should refrain from releasing any solo material. I think the same of Gary too - the tour is fine but solo - material - no!

I always think a tour should back up an album, but it is nice for fans to get to see them live in concert. Yes, i think they all know to well not to jeopardize the brand Take That as they know that's their bread and butter and more. Its interesting how the sales for the new album will go, Robbie after having his biggest hit in years with candy and its even one of his biggest selling ever but yet the album has struggled to shift half a million copies so far in the UK (don't get me wrong half a million is nothing to be sniffed at) but for an artist like Robbie its not great. Progress managed a hell of a lot more, now i know sales seem to be declining by the year but it will be interesting to see how it will effect Take That or to see will it effect them at all.

I agree with Kath almost entirely regarding the brand and mark's decisions and material, although I would still like a proper Gary solo album at some point and he has hinted at it on twitter in the past.

It's so true though about TTC, can't believe how it hasn't even sold a million or close to selling it yet baring in mind all the promo, his first number one in ages that is rapidly closing in on becoming platinum and continuous airplay. Although I think people may be hanging on till the tour to pick it up a bit cheaper it still surprises me.

With TT I can't see the audience changing, I still see the sales of the next album matching 2m+ providing they release a strong lead single as they have done on each of their last three albums. With TTC not doing as well as expected I can most certainly see robbie appearing on the new TT album in some form and touring with them as well as I'm guessing 2014 will focus on uk and Ireland touring like the circus rather than across Europe which would probably suit them all with their children

I think robbie will want continued exposure whether that's solo or part of the band to rebuild his brand from all the years he did nothing as he is definitely in threat of being replaced as an album selling solo machine in Europe. Needless to say he still sells records overseas and his inclusion in progress definitely helped TT break the 3 million worldwide barrier and have the flood chart well in around 30 countries worldwide. So I do hope he is involved as it will benefit both of them...just hope it will be a return to more BW based material rather than electropop and synths.

Gary said they are going into the studio in February so hopefully news will begin to be released in a couple of months or so

Robbie's previous 2 albums saw a huge decline on previous sales. Take The Crown has broke that trend and looks likely to be his best selling out of the last few releases but he is still a huge cry away from his glory days. Robbie is now seen as one of those established acts who is no longer as cool as he once was ( radio 1!!!) so from that perspective he is doing quiet well.

I do believe he will work with Take That again, Uk based Take That are far bigger and can deliver much stronger UK sales than Robbie. Robbie benefits them hugely for picking up European sales. I dont know if Take That will match the previous peaks of 2 million and more selling albums but i do believe they will in no way struggle to sell extremely well. A strong lead single like you said will help the cause no end, if that is delivered Take That will no doubt experience huge album sales once again.

For acts like Robbie it is hard keep on top of the game as such as the radio stations etc favour the younger stars. The sales climate has changed alot since he was at his peak but then we could argue some acts can still manage big sales in this tough climate. I do think Take Thats next album will be more successful than Robbie's take the crown but i am not so sure their lead single will be as big as candy has been for Robbie.
Yeah but in fairness the last 3 lead singles from intensive care, rudebox and reality have been pretty dire and forgetful, candy stands out so much because it hasn't had anything to follow if that makes sense.

Candy is his best single in years and one of his better singles in a very long time, although many dont agree i did love sin sin sin which didnt do that great. Take That i hope put some work into the singles this time, i am sure the lead single will do ok, i know its becoming hugely common for acts to have successful lead singles and subsequent singles flop or borderline flop. But take that have got in a habit of having very messy singles outside the lead single, i think the release, video, promotion needs to be more cohesive. Sometimes though i think they are not really bothered about singles anymore, they simply release them to promote the album and in terms of albums sales it has worked for them. I would love the new Take That album to match the success of the overs and sell the 2 million as their arent too many acts that can say they sold 2 million copies + of 4 consecutive STUDIO albums. Their strike rate has been incredible since they returned

Ultimate Collection 2.2 million sales

Beautiful World 2.8 million

The Circus 2.1 million

The Circus Live 700,000

Progress/Progressed 2.3 million

Progress Live 200,000

For 2 live albums released relatively close to each other (usually live album are years apart) to sell so wel is great and the sales of the other albums speak volumes. Combined the above will eventually total over 10.5 million so another 2 million plus selling would give them even more impressive sales. And to think these sales dont count single sales or dvd sales which also deliver some impressive numbers.

The sales speak for themselves and its great to see their sales. It is amazing what they achieved in 6 years and i believe there is plenty more to come. It would be fantastic to get a full break down of all their sales from singles, DVD and album but i would believe this would be hard to achieve. On paper it all looks good that the new album will do extremely well. I always look forward to seeing what first week sales they achieve as they always open extremely high. I also look forward to hearing the new material and hopefully over the coming months we will be hearing news of recordings and possible release dates etc.
Did they ever certify their tour DVDs? I see Robbie has... i bet Circus Live would be very very high judging by the certification boundaries for music dvds and how well it has sold

Gary confirmed on Twitter the other day that the tour will be out on DVD in a couple of months' time. I dunno if it's this particular show but he's just seen the final edits of it all so that should be exciting! I'll definitely buy it anyway :)
