Both songs saved their positions from last week. Main troublemaker in Top 10 this week is English indie pop band The XX with second single from new album Coexist. Two songs jumped 10 places to break into Top 10: Inhaler by “Foals” and Saviour (The Hale Bop) by “Mystery Jets”. I've reviewed Inhaler last week when it was the biggest climber in Top 20. Mystery Jets’ new single ‘Saviour (The Hale Bop)’ is taken from their fourth album ‘Radlands’, which was co-produced by Mystery Jets and Dan Carey (Hot Chip, Franz Ferdinand, Emiliana Torrini). This country-shack disco number shows English band pay deft homage to the 70's American rock scene. Steve Miller Band first came to my mind when I was listening to this song. The biggest climber in Top 20 is Los Angeles pop group Haim with a new, Fleetwood Mac-inspired, single ‘Don’t Save Me’. The band is composed of sisters, Este, Danielle and Alana Haim. Their debut album is scheduled to drop Spring 2013. Mixing Californian Soft Rock and R&B, the LA band have become one of the most sought-after unsigned properties on the planet in first months of the year, until they'd signed with Polydor Records in June. Anyhting that is Steve Miller band-ish sounds fine by me, I charted The Joker back in early 1974 long before it got to number one:) I'm hoping to check some of these out while on holiday next week (so just emailing myself to remind me to log in to your chartlinks:) cheers! john
