Welcome, one and all, to my top 50 songs of 2012! I will be counting down my handpicked top 50 songs from the year, as well as the following:

- Top 20 most successful songs in my personal chart in 2012

- Top 10 albums of 2012

Hopefully you'll all comment with your thoughts on the songs I reveal here! The top three should be EXTREMELY easy to predict but in which order are they? :o

Some stats for my top 50:

- It was cut down from only 198 different songs that I have charted this year.

- 31 different artists appear.

- The most appearances by one artist is 4!

- All #1s from my chart have made the list bar three - but which three?

THE CUT-OFF CHART FOR THIS WAS WEEK 50 - DECEMBER 1 2012

Comments pl0x and we'll start the rundown of the top 10 albums soon!

You've only got one artist from my actual top three there! :o If you follow my personal chart you'll know exactly who the other two are.

So, we'll kick off the top ten albums of 2012!

10. Emeli Sandé - Our Version Of Events

http://a4.mzstatic.com/us/r1000/061/Music/v4/31/0f/e0/310fe0f3-dd32-681e-5ba2-ee15623ac9f0/5099997869252_1538x1538_300dpi.170x170-75.jpg

Chart run: 5-5-5-6-11-X-14-X-8-13-11-10-X

That chart run is nothing spectacular, but I've definitely underrated this album this year. It's such a grower and there are so many beautiful songs on there!

Highlights:

- Heaven

- My Kind Of Love

- River

- Hope

- Read All About It, Pt. III

Edited by JosephSwift

What a great album to start off on, thoroughly deserving of being the biggest in the UK this year. Heaven & Read All About It Pt.III are especially

Wish I'd have waited to buy the re-release though as Imagine, Wonder and BYB are three of the best tracks on the whole thing.

9. Conor Maynard - Contrast

http://a2.mzstatic.com/us/r1000/099/Music/v4/e0/52/de/e052deb5-bf43-55de-1f95-c541a6d9fd1d/5099963565355_1200x1200_300dpi.170x170-75.jpg

Chart run: 1-3-4-7-8-8-12-9-11-14-14-11-X

Conor's album is the second debut to appear in this rundown already, with two more still to come. The singles are good representations of the album, but aren't necessarily the best things on there. A great effort from Conor and I'm excited to hear what album #2 has in store for him!

Highlights:

- Animal

- Turn Around

- Mary Go Round

- Take Off

- Better Than You (feat. Rita Ora)

8. Haley Reinhart - Listen Up!

http://a2.mzstatic.com/us/r1000/105/Music/v4/26/c0/01/26c00142-9dff-60d9-d3e6-cc47697b808e/UMG_cvrart_00602537039999_01_RGB72_1200x1200_12UMGIM17594.170x170-75.jpg

Chart run: 4-1-1-2-4-2-4-5-6-7-10-10-8-11-13-10-12-13-14-15-13-X

Initially I was disappointed with this album, despite the amazing lead single in Free (written by Lucie Silvas and my third BJSC entry), however, it definitely grew with further listens. There are some filler tracks but the highlights are VERY high.

Highlights:

- Oh My! (feat. B.o.B)

- Free

- Undone

- Spiderweb

7. Carrie Underwood - Blown Away

http://a3.mzstatic.com/us/r1000/103/Music/v4/00/15/9a/00159a7a-86cc-1a71-94b0-2560da28d8ae/886443417083.170x170-75.jpg

Chart run: 1-2-1-1-3-3-4-5-2-4-5-7-10-12-9-11-8-8-11-13-15-15-13-12-15-15-10-13-X

This was my second favourite album of 2012 for quite a while but an influx of albums from September onwards pushed this right down five places! Fantastic album from Carrie, her second best after Carnival Ride for me, so glad she had some success in the UK with this too.

Highlights:

- Good Girl

- Blown Away

- Two Black Cadillacs

- See You Again

- One Way Ticket

- Who Are You

6. Taylor Swift - Red

http://a1.mzstatic.com/us/r1000/103/Music/v4/eb/bc/02/ebbc0219-a3a1-7c77-42ed-706251b98136/UMG_cvrart_00843930007134_01_RGB72_1200x1200_12UMDIM01007.170x170-75.jpg

Chart run: 1-2-2-3-3-4-5- (still charting)

We come to the first album in my rundown which is still currently charting in my personal chart. Red, IMO, is Taylor's second best album (not a patch on the SUPERB Speak Now). It's a fantastic album and the fact this is so low shows how strong my top five is.

Highlights:

- Red

- I Knew You Were Trouble.

- 22

- I Almost Do

- We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together

- Stay Stay Stay

- Starlight

5. Carly Rae Jepsen - Kiss

http://a4.mzstatic.com/us/r1000/072/Music/v4/e8/38/69/e83869f9-06a4-3a01-74a2-c47938fd6b6d/UMG_cvrart_00602537163465_01_RGB72_1200x1200_12UMGIM48177.170x170-75.jpg

Chart run: 1-2-2-2-4-4-6-7-6-8-10- (still charting)

Right from the moment I heard Call Me Maybe, I loved it. Kiss was always going to be right up my street providing she kept that sound, and thankfully, she did. What an amazing pop album. Nothing too serious and that's part of the appeal.

Highlights:

- Call Me Maybe

- Curiosity

- Hurt So Good

- Beautiful

- Tonight I'm Getting Over You

- Guitar String / Wedding Ring

- Your Heart Is A Muscle

4. Cody Simpson - Paradise

http://a2.mzstatic.com/us/r1000/103/Music/v4/2d/b1/99/2db19918-67c8-58fa-8652-53aef21e8373/075679964601.170x170-75.jpg

Chart run: 1-1-1-3-3-4-5-5-3-6- (still charting)

I discovered Cody around March last year after seeing he was the top similar artist to Justin Bieber on last.fm. I downloaded his debut EP 4 U and thought it was rather great. Paradise finally got released around two years after 4 U actually got released, and shows a more grown up sound for Cody as well as keeping the teen pop label too.

Highlights:

- Got Me Good

- Be The One

- Hello

- Tears On My Pillow

- Wish U Were Here

6. Taylor Swift - Red

http://a1.mzstatic.com/us/r1000/103/Music/v4/eb/bc/02/ebbc0219-a3a1-7c77-42ed-706251b98136/UMG_cvrart_00843930007134_01_RGB72_1200x1200_12UMDIM01007.170x170-75.jpg

An incredible album.

But it is not high enough. :(

-x-

Anyway, where's Grimes? Where's Alt-J? Where's Frank Ocean? Is Roman Reloaded about to come?

This countdown is invalid without these four artists.

DON'T DISS CODY UNTIL YOU HEAR THE ALBUM JACK

And Griff, none of them are to come, my taste is too good for that. :kink:

3. One Direction - Take Me Home

http://a5.mzstatic.com/us/r1000/090/Music/v4/b0/36/5c/b0365c80-52f1-5698-5644-10802ba93472/886443503168.170x170-75.jpg

Chart run: 1-1-1-1- (still charting)

The newest album on the list comes from One Direction, one of only two boybands I actually like (the other being JLS). Personally, this album is a step up from Up All Night which was still fantastic. So many fab pop songs!

Highlights:

- Kiss You

- Rock Me

- I Would

- Over Again

- Back For You

- They Don't Know About Us

- Summer Love

Kiss You is INCREDIBLE. It's the One Thing of this era, which I also adored.

Kiss You is indeed fantastic! So happy it's the next single. :D

2. Justin Bieber - Believe

http://a5.mzstatic.com/us/r1000/067/Music/v4/26/bd/16/26bd160f-7cc7-a8f8-ffd7-0ebd36d460b0/UMG_cvrart_00602537060436_01_RGB72_1200x1200_12UMGIM31899.170x170-75.jpg

Chart run: 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2-2-3-3-3-4-4-5-4-5-7-4-4-7-8- (still charting)

Justin's second album was always gonna be one of my favourites of the year; with a mature sound and experimenting with more genres, he couldn't really go wrong! A good progression from My Worlds which was also amazing.

Highlights:

- All Around The World

- As Long As You Love Me

- Fall

- Thought Of You

- Beauty and a Beat

- Believe

So who will be #1? :o

1. Delta Goodrem - Child of the Universe

http://a1.mzstatic.com/us/r1000/090/Music/v4/87/e9/24/87e924e5-2975-3e75-4203-2bc14b32e31f/886443698512.170x170-75.jpg

Chart run: 2-1-1-2-2-2-3- (still charting)

Probably a massive NON-SHOCK to you all but Delta obviously takes my top spot! Child of the Universe is Delta's second best album, only behind Mistaken Identity. The songs have a lot more meaning on here than they did on Delta, and there are no filler songs for me like Innocent Eyes had. Fantastic album, well worthy of this position!

Highlights:

- Wish You Were Here

- Sitting On Top Of The World

- I'm Not Ready

- Hunters and the Wolves

- Dancing With A Broken Heart

- War On Love

- When My Stars Come Out

- Control

Join me tomorrow as I begin the countdown of the top 20 most successful songs of 2012 in my chart!

Innocent Eyes is Delta's Goodrem only good song.

(I like Almost Here as well but let's pretend I didn't say that :kink:)

Almost Here and Innocent Eyes are both fantastic songs! You definitely need to check out some of the songs on that list for Child of the Universe though.

Innocent Eyes is Delta's Goodrem only good song.

Have you not heard 'Believe Again'? Absolutely beautiful song.

I almost forgot Justin. :drama: Thought it was leading to a Delta/Alyssa top 2.

I listened to the first few songs on the Cody album, wasn't really feeling it. :( I think the track with Becky G was the best out of them.
