In two separate incidents people have been able to walk onto planes without actually having tickets or passports....

Incident number 1 - a man accidentally walked onto the wrong plane which was empty and undergoing maintainance, he was not challenged at any point as to who he was or what he was doing on the plane...

Incident number 2 - incredibly, a young lad who ran away from a children's home managed to get through security checks at Gatwick without having a ticket, boarding pass or passport....

UN-FUKKIN'-BELIEVABLE!!! Not to mention incredibly embarrassing for BAA; Christ, if they cant even get the ruddy basics right and stop stowaways and unauthorised people from getting on planes, just what is all the bullsh!t with cancelling flights, hand-luggage, not letting people take bottles of water or electrical equipment and just generally causing people a lot of stress and inconvienience gonna actually achieve....? <_<

Can't really put a comment to that GF, you summed it up pretty well.

In May, my friend flew here to visit me from DC. Once back at my place, she opened her purse and pulled out a giant KITCHEN KNIFE. Apparently she had been on a picnic the day before and had brought a knife to cut the bread. She accidently kept it in her purse and it zipped right through security. We both laughed at the situation and how she managed to get THAT onboard the plane... but really it is rather disconcerting.

Meanwhile they still take TWEEZERS out of carryons at O'Hare... What the hell!! Am I going to pluck the flight attendants eyebrows to death?!
