El Sueño de Morfeo have been internally selected to represent Spain. There'll be a public vote for the song again like with Pastora this year.

I quite like that :D Morpheus' Dream is a terrible band name but whatever.
An absolutely superb selection! I'd first heard of them back in January with the single "Depende de ti" and they reminded me of a punchier version of The Corrs or an Irish version of Speedway  . Can't wait to hear their potential Eurovision tracks!

The Spanish broadcaster has announced that the candidate songs for El Sueño de Morfeo will be presented tomorrow, 5 February, by RTVE.es. Out of the four songs, two of them will be directly qualified for the final, whereas the third entry will be selected by the public via online voting (following the same format that was used for Pastora Soler last year). Each voter will only be able to cast one vote.

People will be able to access RTVE website and cast their vote from approximately noon CET tomorrow until noon CET on the 11th of February. Then, the two preselected songs plus the one selected by the audience will compete in a special show to be broadcast on the 26 of February from the TVE studios in Barcelona. The selection will be made by a mix of televote and jury vote.

In terms of the style of the songs, the official website has said: "Even though we will not know the songs that the members of ESDM have written, we can already tell you that they are upbeat songs with the celtic sound that is the band’s trademark."

Really excited! Going by their previous songs, I think El Sueno de Morfeo will be one of my favourite entries of the year!

Shame Portugal aren't entering this year, they could dedicate Contigo hasta el final to them :kink:

'Atrévete' won the online vote with 69.9% of the vote and will join 'Contigo hasta el final' and 'Dame tu voz' in the national final on the 26th February!

This is happening tonight and it seems that 'Contigo hasta el final' is nearly a guaranteed winner. My preference is 'Atrevete' with 'Contigo hasta el final' 2nd, but all 3 songs are very good!

After watching the show I loved all 3 entries, great national final!! Especially loved their duet with Pastora Soler too!

The results were as follows:

1. Contigo hasta el final - (36+36) 72 points

2. Atrévete - (30+30) 60 points

3. Dame tu voz - (24+24) 48 points

So the Spanish entry for this year's Eurovision Song Contest is ESDM - El Sueño de Morfeo with 'Contigo hasta el final'! Fantastic entry!

It's nice, but that's about it. I have a horrible feeling it's going to bomb really badly, potentially earning 0 points in the public vote. There's just nothing there to make people vote for it. The juries may favour it a bit more however.

Well that's all very pleasant but it doesn't sound like it's going to do a thing on the Eurovision stage. I'd say it could do with a shot of energy but it doesn't feel bored as such, it's just.. flat.

Title though - fantastic.

The title makes me think they are singing about those people who fall asleep after 5 first songs and wake up to watch the results/performance of their country.

Apparently it has been confirmed that the Copa del Rey (Spanish version of the English FA Cup) final that was scheduled for the same day as the ESC final will be moved to 17th May! I'm surprised they have done this just for Eurovision and there doesn't seem to be another reason! :o

And here is the music video along with a brand new version of the song!

Such a beautiful video and I love the changes they've made to the song, the final chorus especially has a lot more power! It was already in my amazing category, but I think it will be climbing further up my rankings!!

They released the new album like a week ago, if anyone's interested.

Which is apparently just their BEST OF meh.
