For me : it was a combination of both factors (+ don't forget her impressive sales. She sold more, than anybody else. P.S. : Adele "21" is 2011 year for me)

It were 3 reasons, because I voted for Taylor Swift. :D

Fortunately I can get out of this, by pointing out I picked Lana *ahead* of Taylor Swift.

Lana is getting a lot of love on Buzzjack this year...

I dont understand how madonna made the list yet pink and kylie didnt. Pink really deserved to be in that list, especially over madonna. I dont know how to pick... probably Lana

 

EDIT: Infact I decided to null my vote as Pink should have been in this list.

because all the nominees on that list have either scored a number 1 single or a number 1 album in 2012, including Madonna which Pink and Kylie didn't achieve. As much as i adore both artists, and they are, along with Britney Spears my top 3 favorite female artists ever, yet i didn't nominate them for that reason...

 

PS: Madonna has the highest grossing worldwide tour of 2012, and that alone is enough reason to nominate her....
