Any reasons why the French charts have been delaying for the last few weeks and having not many sales data (esp. singles sales were noticeably absent for the last two weeks) as they used to earlier this year?

If only I knew... (sigh). The SNEP is so slow giving the charts...

Thanks  SNEP is really slow. Better late than never, I suppose. I'm even amazed that there are still physical copies of some singles, considering SNEP stopped doing the physical charts itself. The album sales have been very impressive lately. Not only in December, but there were some albums making really impressive debuts throughout the last few months (ie. Muse, Rihanna, Johnny Hallyday and so forth). Rihanna is selling like a beast there!

I really hope NOW-like compilation won't overpopulate the Top 10 albums next year, especially from NRJ. I think we had one week where six of top 10 as a compilation and some from the same companies. One week was like - NRJ Zumba Party, NRJ Summer Hits, NRJ 100000000% Hits Only.

For some weeks now, I have taken as a reference the albums chart from the SNEP site which excludes the compilations, I used to take the comprehensive albums chart from chartsinfrance, but they can change the methodology from one week to another in the latter site. Moreover the best-selling albums in the Christmas period were not compilations, for example you can only find "NRJ Hits 2013" at number 11 in this week's chart.

Anyway if a compilation was a big seller, I would give the information in my blog, be prepared to see "NRJ Music Awards 2013" very soon... ;)

Hi Gary! Random question for you but I was wondering if you could tell me if chartsinfrance is a reliable website for articles. This article:

Claims Caméléon has been certified 2x Platinum, but that it's only sold 110k. With a 90k difference between sales and shipments it's a tad hard to believe, and I don't see it on the most recent SNEP certifications list I can find:

Can you offer any insight here? Sorry to bother you!

EDIT: And this page claims she's sold 170k:

Two pages on the same site contradicting each other :drama:

For the week ending 23rd December, "Caméléon" sold 22,948 copies. In total, it sold around 173,200. :)
Thanks, Gary! You reckon it has been certified 2x Platinum?
Thank you, Gary
