Notable mentions for Justified and New Girl (which started as a rather silly Zooey vehicle and has blossomed into a decent ensemble comedy). Another mention, although not as positive, for The Good Wife. It's the prime example of how one awful plot can completely derail a show. This season has made it hard to believe it was directly competing with cable drama at one point. Community is another that is a shadow of its former self, although perhaps understandably with all the on set shenanigans. Sad.

YASSS. best episode of any show all year for me, just perfect.

 

other than homeland and 30 rock though i've not wathed much else. gonna have to get back into veep though after that clip. and gotta catch up with breaking bad which is taking timeee.

It's such a childish thing but I seriously struggle with hour-long tv shows these days. So I haven't got into the slower ones like Breaking Bad/Mad Men (even though I love what I've seen) as much as I should have. Parks and Rec/30 Rock/Homeland/Veep/Girls have pretty much dominated this year for me.

 

Game of Thrones I watched in its entirety and then after the final episode realised that it was actually a little bit ridiculous. Will probably watch series 3 still tho. Mostly for Dinklage.

Parks and Rec leading the pack though. Homeland, Dexter, Veep, 30 Rock, Walking Dead, Once Upon a Time - all the standard stuff.

I was recently told I was INSANE for watching/following 30 odd shows. Silly people don't realise about 10 of those are summer cable shows and I LOVE to marathon shit too *.*

 

I shall compile a list for this sometime - though for now I shall simply say THE TV episode of 2012 for me was GoT: Blackwater. That final scene with Cersei is among the best things I have ever seen, but obviously the whole thing was just so fantastically constructed from beginning to end.

Blackwater! Yes! Not quite sure how I forgot to include that. I'm admittedly not the biggest fan of Game of Thrones (perhaps due to the genre and for some reason not really *feeling* this season until 'The Old Gods and the New') but it when it is good it is excellent.

Breaking Bad was by far the best TV show I have seen this year. 'Dead Freight' is my favourite episode. That whole train sequence and what happens in the aftermath is just insane. Totally brilliant.

 

Game of Thrones, Homeland, The Walking Dead are not too far behind. I can never remember the names of my favourite episodes, generally because they're all so good. I did love the premiere of The Walking Dead Season 3. That first sequence is amazing.

Oh, bitch has DELIVERED and then some this year but sadly no episode of The Good Wife has been outright SHIT THE BED AMAZING in its own right, though 3.14 did try as hard as it could.

My favourite for the year has to be Nurse Jackie. I just love the snark and dark humor of the show.

I also enjoyed True Blood, Dr Who, The Big Bang Theory, The New Normal, Merlin, White Collar, Vampire Diaries and some of Supernatural...Definitely more shows to this list but that's enough for now.

Ah, completely forgot about Nurse Jackie! This season was easily the best yet, especially after it had become borderline atrocious at one point.

Doctor Who FINALLY returned to form after a pretty shit 2011. And I know it was just a few days ago, but Miranda :wub: :wub:

My favourite episode would probably be several of the Game of Thrones ones, but even with that i was chugging through a lot of it.

 

This was the year i watched The Wire though, so nothing can come close to matching the third, and particularly the almighty fourth season of that. I spent the year watching older shows, but will try to remain up to date next year ^_^

 

I was also reality TV mad as usual, and my favourite TV moments were any that involved Deana in BB :kink:
