May 13, 201312 yr The polls and online views appear to show Ireland will qualify easily enough and like you said likely to flop on the final. I like the song and i believe it will make the final and be placed top 10. I also think it will be the first time in quiet a few years that both Ireland the the UK will finish with top 10 positions.
May 15, 201312 yr He performed well and was staged well, but it is one of my least fave irish entries in a few years, the song just doesnt click with me, im delighted we are in the final though as it does make the final more exciting.
May 15, 201312 yr I love the song and the staging definitely added to it, the drums really give it a great kick, it is by far the best Irish entry for a few years. I dont think it stands a chance of winning but should achieve a reasonable result on Saturday.

May 15, 201312 yr It is starting to make some impact in some European markets but nothing in the UK. Irish Eurovision songs to my knowledge seem to do reasonably well in Sweden year on year.
May 15, 201312 yr I think he needs to work on his vocals just a TAD. There were parts that were a bit patchy but overall he did a great job. I'm still not sold on the chorus but I'll have to get over it. :P Would love to see us come in the top half of the scoreboard.
May 15, 201312 yr The performance last night was a lot better than I expected actually. I'm thinking we might not completely flop on Saturday, but I can't see a top ten happening. We could get a mid table (12th-17th) result.
May 15, 201312 yr The only part I enjoyed was the random backing singer interaction in the chorus, which was a huge improvement on the general slowly swaying thing the Irish backing singers used to have going on.
May 15, 201312 yr He did well I did think his vocals were quite strained? When's the last time we've had partially naked backing dancers? That surprised me, normally we ai on the side of stripped back, not that I was complaining.
May 16, 201312 yr There was tiny elements of his voice been strained i do agree but looking from an overall point of view he did sing very well. Yes, i do think Ireland finishing on the left side of the scoreboard would be a good finish but i suspect they may sneak a very low top 10 result.
May 16, 201312 yr Author I have to say that it was a good overall performance but Ryan's vocals did sound very strained as if he was trying too hard. It wasn't in my top 10 of the night, but I'm still glad that it qualified as it is a decent song.
May 17, 201312 yr He is performing last so hopefully that will help Ireland with a few votes, only thing is there are quiet a few songs now performing near the end, ideally a sot between Lithuania and Romania i would have liked!
May 17, 201312 yr only thing is there are quiet a few songs now performing near the end I don't think it was possible for organisers to have nobody except for Ireland perform in later slots.
May 18, 201312 yr I hope Ryan can manage to finish in the top 15 and wait on the left side of the board.
May 18, 201312 yr Big disappointment. I thought Ryan's performance tonight was very strong, more so than in the semi.
May 18, 201312 yr We didn't deserve the last place. I did really think we would have gotten a 16th-22nd out of it at least. I suppose in hindsight Europe probably didn't appreciate a song in which the word love is repeated constantly throughout the whole song.... For next year I would like if we sent something mid-tempo.....not uptempo like Jedward/Ryan but not a slow bland love ballad either. We should probably try to be a bit more creative too. (Classy creativity, not "let's go crazy and send a turkey" creativity ) I think that's what is really lacking with us, it's creativity. Edited May 18, 201312 yr by Sabrewulf
May 18, 201312 yr His jury rehearsal was quite shaky, apparently, so perhaps that cost him a few points. It's a tad SHIT to finish last with a song that was better than the likes of Spain (what even was that) and Malta, but hey ho. RTÉ get what they pay for in fairness. Throwing together a few songs for the Late Late Show just doesn't cut it. Invest and you will be rewarded.
