Can somebody please briefly fill me in on what happened on today's C4 ep? I only got up to where Will and Texas were talking to Ellie and she said her name being different to the record was because she's divorced or something, I got called downstairs and missed the rest but it sounds like I missed a lot :(

Ah ok, I'll probably give it a watch in a bit when I've finished off my IT work I need to do - I have read how great it is so I'll definitely make sure I watch it before tomorrow anyway!

WHAT AN EXIT. I loved the way Cheryl realised what he was away to do :(

Surely it has a chance of winning best exit?

It has to be nominated. And I can't think of an exit which has been better. But they'll probably give it to EastEnders.

paul now the last one in the title credits! :o maybe this means he'll be the new star of the show? hope so, he's a great character.

Fantastic, heartbreaking episodes last night and tonight. Pretty much as close to perfection as soap gets really. It was sad that Ste and Brendan didn't get their happy ending, but conversely I thought Cheryl's exit (and post-credits scene) was really nice. No point in two lives being destroyed by the business with Seamus. I think that was the best week of soap for a good three years or so.

And now we're moving swiftly on to Clare's return! I imagine she'll take over the sweet spot in the credits soon. I'd welcome some Browning domination in the meantime! (In more ways than one.)

Agreed, amazing lot of episodes! Everything was handled perfectly, I'm glad they didn't end up ruining Cheryl's life too, the post credits scene in the car was brilliant! Brilliant exit for both of them, and at least with Clare being back there's no way we'll be short of big characters. Still though, the Bradys are arguably the biggest loss Hollyoaks has EVER had, especially both of them going at the same time.

(and agreed on Browning domination )

Two more HUGE LOSSES:

Jen and Liam.

From DS:

"Jen's affair with Tilly is exposed at the college open day in two weeks. "The storyline twist marks Jen's final appearance in the show as the character bows out after a year on screen. Jen's brother Liam also exits the soap, fleeing the village in shame after his sister's scandal."

That all sounds like it will be mercifully quick.

FIRST LACEY NOW THIS </3

In seriousness I'll only miss Liam and that's for one reason. Not his acting...

I'm sure Liam can't have made more than a dozen appearances throughout his entire time on the show. They never even bothered to bestow upon him a personality. Hopefully this is a sign that Kirkwood won't stand for planks being hired purely for their looks.

It's a proper cast clear out. I think there are still lots of rumours about Leanne, Dennis, Tilly and Barney amongst others, and I wouldn't be surprised if they are all dispatched within the next few months.

Is it true that my dear Liberty Savage has been given an OFF SCREEN exit?
I assumed she was on an off screen break, Dirk has said once or twice she's 'on tour'.

Liberty is still with the show, Abi Phillips confirmed on Twitter, but she's been taken out the opening credits.

Not looking good for Leanne though, with Texas leaving soon, she isn't gonna have much to do...

Somehow Sasha Valentine managed to grab a spot on Game of Thrones... Dear god.

SHOCKING NEWS:

Diane

is getting a storyline!

Diane and Tony's one-night stand this week ends up in her getting pregnant, all at the same time as Jacqui leaving, Tony discovering he has testicular cancer, and Diane agreeing to take on Sinead's child. Presumably the return of Finn ties into all this as well. Sounds like Tony and the O'Connors are going to be front-and-centre this year, which isn't necessarily a terrible thing.

I can't help thinking they've got that wrong.

Giving Diane another baby? When she's going to have Sinead's anyway? Surely it would've made more sense to give Martha a baby. Especially seeing as any relapse into alcoholism could have nasty consequences.

I guess maybe that's the point of it. Perhaps

Diane will decide at the last minute she can't take Sinead's kid on as well, and leaves the brat high and dry with the sprog. I think they've realised they're going to have to knock Sinead right down to rock bottom before they can begin to redeem her.

Of course I fully endorse the idea of a pregnant and fabulous Martha.

Martha is SORELY lacking in screen time right now, as are all the Kanes. I'm not entirely sure what they're doing with Callum right now, they seem to have done a complete 180 with his character. He's gone from being an independent and moody intellectual to being a generic LAD trying to get off with 15 year old girls and being easily led by others. I don't think it's a change for the better.

  • 2 weeks later...

I agree with Shoat. what have they done to Calum's character?! Who on earth is this new college kid?!

I am so behind at the moment, about a week and a half. I'm glad that Esther didn't forgive Sinead, although it was nice to finally see her showing some remorse.
