We are now reaching the songs that went Gold (400k sales) and starting it off is the winners single of the 2011 "X Factor" series and it comes from Little Mix with their version of the Damien Rice track "Cannonball". The song has sold less than 500,000 copies in the UK to date which is what the current champion James Artthur sold in a week with his winners single "Impossible".

Lana made a big impact with her 2011 track "Video Games" which was a massive number one on my chart and despite only reaching no.9 in the UK it has gone on to sell over 400k. The follow-up to that track was "Born To Die" which is also where the chart-topping album of which the tracks were taken from got its name. Lana released four singles in 2012 all but one making my chart, with this being the biggest despite one of the other tracks reaching no.3.

This became one of the years' biggest worldwide hits but had to settle for no.2 on my chart kept off the top spot by Katy Perry. If it wasn't for Justin Bieber this track most likely would've of been such a phenomenon and the UK would have one less million seller.

This track was the next thing we heard from Carly Rae Jepsen alongside Owl City and became a slightly bigger hit on my chart than her debut, however she still had to settle for no.2 kept off the number one spot by Karmins' "Brokenhearted".

No surprises to who is my number one of 2012, the only and only Nicki Minaj with the mega hit "Starships" which went double Platinum the equivalent to selling 1.2 million copies in the UK where it actually did sell very well but not as much with sales of close to 900k. The video seemed to take forever to be released which did turn out to be a bit of an anti-climax but that didn't stop it from staying at number one for a whole month and eventually became my 2nd biggest hit ever. It is currently just 18 points (72,000 UK sales) behind the number one spot.
