Posted August 17, 200618 yr Her 1st album sold over 1million copies in the UK but the last album bombed. Why do you think it happened? Personally, I think the first single was the wrong choice of song. Almost Here should have been released first followed by other singles. Also, they only released two singles from the album in total, I wonder why that was? Almost here got to no2 so it wasnt a failure in any means.
August 17, 200618 yr I think the problem was that the album came out in the busy run-up to xmas and kind of got a bit lost. Also the singles were quite weak really IMO. There was much better songs that could have been released and given the album a boost such as 'The analyst' or 'LNOE'. Also the bad press over the whole Brian and Kerry thing didn't help.
August 17, 200618 yr Released too soon on the back of the wrong single, wasn't given enough promo, not enough singles released from it, instead of overcoming the bad press it was run away from and the album left to sink .... basically!! Love, Kirsty xx
August 18, 200618 yr People were probably just getting used to Delta and Brian being together. And maybe because there wasn't much promotion. And there wasn't two singles, there were 4!
August 18, 200618 yr There were two singles in the UK! 'Electric Storm' or 'Last Night On Earth', either of those two would have made a better lead single and done MUCH better than 'Out Of The Blue', and then of course there was all the negative publicity at the time with the Brian thing, which didn't help. :( IMO it's a much better album than Innocent Eyes, and deserved to do at least as well.
August 18, 200618 yr it did bad simply because of her involvment with brian mc fadden,it was to close to the whole hype of kerry who everyon eloved at the time and at the time many believed delta broke them up so they turned on her and he ralbum suffered very bad sales
August 19, 200618 yr Yep pretty much that it did get lost in xmas and the whole Brian thing! But, Delta never really was that big in the UK anyway!
August 19, 200618 yr Yep pretty much that it did get lost in xmas and the whole Brian thing! But, Delta never really was that big in the UK anyway! Well in the IE era she was on every kids tv show going and her album did very weel indeed.
August 20, 200618 yr Dire single choices (none of the singles released ANYWHERE were radio friendly enough) and a limp comeback single to name just a few problems -_-
August 20, 200618 yr I loved Out of the blue although compared to some songs on the album it was weak...
August 20, 200618 yr MI is unbelieveable, it is the best album i have ever heard in my life and Delta ruined it's credability with her choices of singles, i think she took for granted what she had on that album and got lazy about it!
August 20, 200618 yr I loved Out of the blue although compared to some songs on the album it was weak... I can see why it was released as it meant a lot to her, but they should have released a better single and then the album. MI is unbelieveable, it is the best album i have ever heard in my life and Delta ruined it's credability with her choices of singles, i think she took for granted what she had on that album and got lazy about it! But it wasn't exactly her who choose the singles. The label picked MI as it was the fan favourite (not always a good move), AH as of the publicity and ALTL as it was summery.

The label picked MI as it was the fan favourite (not always a good move), AH as of the publicity and ALTL as it was summery. How could ALTL be a summery track, it wasn't even realeased in summer! And it is up to Delta what she wants to released, no one else!
August 22, 200618 yr How could ALTL be a summery track, it wasn't even realeased in summer! And it is up to Delta what she wants to released, no one else! It isn't entirely up to Delta actually, of course she has a say in it but the record company is the one who has final say ... because after all it is them who will be putting money into the songs promotion ... so therefore they'll want to make sure there gonna get a good return on their decision. Love, Kirsty xx

August 23, 200618 yr it is summer in australia in may! and i think sony has the final say as it is their money that is making videos, paying for recording studios etc. they want songs for singles that they 'think' will do the best. this might not actually happen but they are meant to know which ones will....
August 25, 200618 yr it is summer in australia in may! and i think sony has the final say as it is their money that is making videos, paying for recording studios etc. they want songs for singles that they 'think' will do the best. this might not actually happen but they are meant to know which ones will.... I think they got it so wrong with MI as fan favourties are not always winners and MI wasn't exactly radio material, hence it not doing as well as the others (I refuse to acknowledge #7 as a flop - not everything she releases can be #1 )
