Swedish singer Frida Sundemo smashes in at the top of the singles chart with the breathtakingly gorgeous Snow, which pushes Scream & Shout by will.i.am and Britney Spears down to No.2 after a week on top...Calvin Harris and Tinie Tempah's collaboration Drinking From The Bottle climbs one to a new peak of No.3, Ellie Goulding's Figure 8 dips two spots to No.4 and Pitbull and producer TJR move into the top five for the first time with Don't Stop The Party! Ellie Goulding's album Halcyon belatedly hits No.1 as it climbs a place from No.2, swapping positions with Bastille's Other People's Heartache...Jessie Ware's former chart topper Devotion stays at No.3, the official soundtrack to the film Pitch Perfect debuts at No.4 and Taylor Swift's Red returns to the top five, up one place to No.5!

Woo for Pitch Perfect/The Barden Bellas! :D I knew that the 80s/90s MOR-pop would be your favourite off the soundtrack, it is mine too though :P I decided against charting any songs though, as they would probably take up the majority of my top ten before bombing in a couple of weeks! The soundtrack would be my #1 album, if I still compiled an albums chart though!

 

Great to see Kimberley chart here, I'm guessing that now makes it 5/5 of Girls Aloud to chart for you, assuming Sarah did with her songs from the St. Trinian's 2 soundtrack? "One Day I'll Fly Away" is gorgeous, I especially love the building of the track, and the highlight is 2:20 or thereabouts. I'm really excited for Centre Stage now, hopefully she can have some decent success with it.

 

I finally heard Bastille's "Free", and the rest of their two mixtapes and it's all so great. I love the vocalist, it's really quite beautiful and haunting in a way. "Dreams", "No Angels", "Of the Night", "Adagio for Strings", "Sweet Pompeii" - I could go on! From the sound of these and the two singles, Bad Blood could be one of my favourites of the year :D

WOO FOR KARA! (and Girls' Generation, but mainly for KARA!) Both songs are amazing though. Cascada are BACK! 'Glorious' is definitely the best thing I've heard from them in what seems like an absolute age. I do hope they get to represent Germany. Good to see T.I. and P!nk's duet in your top 40 too! Great song. Little Mix need to get a move on if they're hoping for 'Change Your Life' to be a hit!

Thanks Tom, yeah the music meetup was great, my friend James loved it and Paul seemed to have a good time too, we did a lot more circulating and met a Swedish girl who we talked MF with for ages! Really pleased that you agree with me about Snow, don't get me wrong, I love Indigo but it sounds like a b-side next to Snow, I'm stunned by its brilliance, it would have walked BJSC had it been allowed to enter! Do you think Glorious rips off Euphoria, it sounds more to me like Don't You Worry Child, that riff especially! I can't see Germany sending it though. Yes the Jessie song is 110% renamed because of some legal issue :drama: I still adore the song though, moreso than ever in fact! Diandra's song is very Ryan Tedder but I'm really liking it tbh. Yeah, Blue went in at #7 officially in Germany, same peak as I Can, I'm amazed at their continued success but it's a quality song! It's only just caught on with me since I obtained it in HQ! Yes I agree, I've seen Bowie in a couple of other charts now but it's good to see him back, and in the UK top ten again! I know right, I think it's more that I'm being exposed to way more K-pop recently, as opposed to me disliking it in the past. Only PSY has gone top ten for me still so far though, although IU's Good Day really should have done in retrospect. I am liking Miracle but it's a hugely strong chart at the moment, they've done better though.

Woo for Pitch Perfect/The Barden Bellas! :D I knew that the 80s/90s MOR-pop would be your favourite off the soundtrack, it is mine too though :P I decided against charting any songs though, as they would probably take up the majority of my top ten before bombing in a couple of weeks! The soundtrack would be my #1 album, if I still compiled an albums chart though!

 

Great to see Kimberley chart here, I'm guessing that now makes it 5/5 of Girls Aloud to chart for you, assuming Sarah did with her songs from the St. Trinian's 2 soundtrack? "One Day I'll Fly Away" is gorgeous, I especially love the building of the track, and the highlight is 2:20 or thereabouts. I'm really excited for Centre Stage now, hopefully she can have some decent success with it.

 

I finally heard Bastille's "Free", and the rest of their two mixtapes and it's all so great. I love the vocalist, it's really quite beautiful and haunting in a way. "Dreams", "No Angels", "Of the Night", "Adagio for Strings", "Sweet Pompeii" - I could go on! From the sound of these and the two singles, Bad Blood could be one of my favourites of the year :D

 

Yes! Great soundtrack, I'm a sucker for MOR pop as you know, and I LOVE The Sign and Eternal Flame in any form :wub: It's the only song I loved enough to chart though. Yes, well Kimberley charted for me with Like U Like as well, even though she was just featured! And yep, a couple of Sarah's songs charted for me too! Only Nadine and Cheryl have managed solo #1's but Nicola got a solo #1 album, which Nadine didn't! Glad you're liking Bastille's stuff, you've picked out all of my highlights too!

 

WOO FOR KARA! (and Girls' Generation, but mainly for KARA!) Both songs are amazing though. Cascada are BACK! 'Glorious' is definitely the best thing I've heard from them in what seems like an absolute age. I do hope they get to represent Germany. Good to see T.I. and P!nk's duet in your top 40 too! Great song. Little Mix need to get a move on if they're hoping for 'Change Your Life' to be a hit!

I heard the Kara song in your chart and really liked it, I'm really getting into a lot of K-pop recently, it's not that I didn't like it before just that I didn't have much exposure to it! Yes, Glorious is their best single since probably 2007! Pyromania and San Francisco were both decent but not incredible, glad to see them back on form (even though they just had a #2 album/top ten single for me with their xmas efforts!). I'm sure Germany won't pick them though :( Indeed, I really like the T.I./Pink song, very melodic! Looks like Change Your Life will be a flop, I wonder what went wrong, it's a great pop song :o

That said, On The Floor is one of my top 40 favourite songs ever now and his contribution to that was unforgettable! Thanks Klumzee! I absolutely ADORE Snow right now, it's way better than Indigo, shame you haven't taken to it that much. I really love Change Your Life, the music and harmonies more than the lyrics admittedly. Running To The Sea is gorgeous but it still hasn't topped Eple or The Girl & The Robot for me, which peaked at #1 and #4 respectively!

Yes! Great soundtrack, I'm a sucker for MOR pop as you know, and I LOVE The Sign and Eternal Flame in any form :wub: It's the only song I loved enough to chart though. Yes, well Kimberley charted for me with Like U Like as well, even though she was just featured! And yep, a couple of Sarah's songs charted for me too! Only Nadine and Cheryl have managed solo #1's but Nicola got a solo #1 album, which Nadine didn't! Glad you're liking Bastille's stuff, you've picked out all of my highlights too!

I'd never heard "The Sign" before seeing the film, but I've already racked up as many plays of the original as the mashup last week! :lol: "Eternal Flame" is one of my favourite 80s songs/possibly songs in general, but I've never bothered working that out. Oh of course she did! That was a long-running top ten hit for me as well. Sarah never charted though, and of course Nadine was #2 behind Cheryl for me, meaning Nicola and Cheryl are the only with #1s on my chart. The three of them have had #1 albums though, I think.

25. Diandra - Colliding Into You (NEW) (CR-25) I'm disappointed in all honesty with this. It'll make for a nice Eurovision entry, but I was expecting a lot more! I think Finland will probably choose one of the other acts, possibly Arion or Rautakourassa

35. Blue - Hurt Lovers (NEW) (CR-35) I do rather like this! I doubt it'll be a big UK hit, but it's good to see they still have a fanbase in Germany. I do find it odd how some British artists can have far more and lasting success in Germany than their homeland! (Kim Wilde, Melanie C, Hurts, Amy Macdonald...)

36. David Bowie - Where Are We Now? (NEW) (CR-36) I don't get the love for this at all!
