ESC Xtra have revealed the 24 finalists for the Moldovan selection! Great to see Dara back as I loved her song from the national final last year!

TRM, the Moldovan broadcaster, has announced which 24 singers/acts will participate in their national final. Among them, there are no returning Eurovision participants. There are a few familiar faces from previous national finals, however.

The 24 participants are:

Anna Gulko

Inaya

Felicia Dunaf

Cristina Scarlat

Stela Boţan

Vitalie Negruţa

Doiniţa Gherman

Irina Taraşiuc

Aliona Moon

Fire Love

Ruslan Ţaranu

Cristina Croitoru & Karizma

Aurel Chirtoacă

Alexandru Şendrea

Svetlana Bogdanova

Boris Covali

Cristina V.

Tatiana Heghea

Denis Latîşev

NiCo

Irina Chitoroagă

Vitalie Maciunschi

Dara

Valeria Paşa

The songs these participants will perform have not yet been selected. Moldova has decided to separate the application between singers and songs. 49 singers applied for the national final. 126 songs were entered. It is now the task of the 24 selected artists to pick their favourite song from a selected list of sixty songs.

Cristina Croitoru & Karizma's entry should be pretty brilliant based on previous material by both artists! When Life Is Grey was robbed by the awful jury in 2011 :(

The two semi finals have taken place this week and the final will take place on Saturday 16th!

This is what the line-up of the national final is looking like (not sure if this is the running order):

1. Cristina V. & Glam Girls - Celebrate

2. Boris Covali - Runaways

3. Cristina Croitoru & Karizma - Never fall again

4. Svetlana Bogdanova - Conquer my heart

5. Nicoleta Gavriliţă (NiCo) - Freaky thong

6. Aurel Chirtoacă - Iartă-mă

7. Irina Kitoroagă - L.O.V.E. Love

8. Anna Gulko - Somebody else

9. Vitalie Negruţă - You'll be mine

10. Cristina Scarlat - I pray

11. Doiniţa Gherman - Planeta e un rai

12. Tatiana Heghea - A brighter day

13. Felicia Dunaf - Codename Felice

14. Aliona Moon - A million

Cristina Croitoru & Karizma to win plz.

Aliona Moon will represent Moldova with her song 'A Million'! She came 2nd in the televote and 1st in the jury vote! Boris finished 2nd, Cristina Scarlat 3rd and Cristina & Karizma 4th.

I haven't heard the song yet, but hopefully its good! :D

Here is the studio version of the song, and last year's entrant Pasha Parfeny composed it!

Another basic bitch ballad. I actually thought she'd win when I first heard the song yesterday. Plus being last to perform is always a bonus.

Another female ballad, but I like it! Good choice Moldova!

This concludes the 2013 National Final season! :o

I miss it already :(
It seems like yesterday when I was watched my first national final of the season which was Denmark, and I was so so happy Emmelie won!

So many ballads.

This is quite nice I suppose. Could go either way in terms of success but without Romania and with so many other ballads in the same semi they may struggle a little.

April... The longest month of the year :manson:

Interesting decision! The Romanian version is called 'O Mie' and you can listen to it below:

Just listened to it, and I think I prefer this version to the English version!

It's far better in Romanian. They risked a DNQ with the English version but the Romanian version should see Moldova safely through again.

Here is the official video for 'O Mie'!

Beautiful video and I think I hear some production changes too, especially towards the end. I think this is a very likely qualifier, finishing around 7th or 8th in the semi.

Today, after their rehearsal, Moldova took the unusual step of refusing to hold a press conference after they claimed to be unsatisfied with production elements by host broadcaster SVT in their second rehearsal today.

“It doesn’t look at all like we expected” said Pasha Parfeny, the song’s composer, after discussions in the viewing room after this afternoon’s rehearsal.

As part of their participation, countries are required to hold at least one press conference, unless permitted by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). The EBU have confirmed that Moldova did not seek an exception to the rule.

It remains unclear whether any action will be taken in relation to the matter.

Of all of the countries, Moldova have one of the best stage productions it seems so I'm surprised that they are unsatisfied with it and refusing to hold their press conference because of it. :o
