Posted March 23, 200619 yr http://www.devilducky.com/media/43354/ Watch this absolutely fantastic clip of him on the US Jimmy Kimmel show tearing a right bleedin' strip off of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.....  He is a GOD!!!! :cheer: :cheer:
March 23, 200619 yr I really, really detest him, I really don't know who he thinks he is, he goes on as if he's GOD and he clearly isn't I actually stopped watching I'm A Celeb because of him, and he had the cheek to say "yeah if I hadn't of walked out I would have won!" ERM NO you wouldn't have, now he is trying to cling onto fame by making an idiot of himself, people don't think "wow you're so cool" people think "wow you're such an arrogant prick" sorry for being so blunt but he really does boil my piss -_-

ERM NO you wouldn't have, now he is trying to cling onto fame by making an idiot of himself, people don't think "wow you're so cool" people think "wow you're such an arrogant prick" sorry for being so blunt but he really does boil my piss -_- He doesn't think he's anyone, he's one of the most honest, forthright, no-bullsh!t people in Rock, he doesn't suffer fools gladly (which is why he walked off "I'm A Celeb...") and speaks his mind - THAT'S why I like him, did you actually sit and even watch the clip? He's saying absolutely NOTHING that aint spot on... And 'clinging onto fame'?? What bullsh!t, if he was doing that he'd've taken the award, turned up to the a ceremony and schmoozed with the rest of them, he knocked it back. The Sex Pistols and PiL are legendary bands, he is a legend, he's got fukk all to prove to anyone. And he's graduated to doing documentaries now.... Considering you worship one of the most fake, phoney people in the music biz Mariah "I dont do stairs" Carey - a stupid, stupid facile bitch of the worst order and her music is utter $h!te as well, you've got some nerve criticising Johnny.... Johnny has character, something you could never accuse Mariah fukkin' Carey of....
March 23, 200619 yr Author sorry kelz..... scott is 100% right... Actually, the first draft of my reply to Kelly was a lot stronger... I kinda had to tone it down a little. To borrow Kelly's phrase though what really boils my piss is that people just look at that fukkin' "I'm A Celeb" bullsh!t and think that that's what Johnny is, which could not be further from the truth. He admitted himself that doing it was a total mistake on his part, how many others would've been that honest? I think the problem was that he was a fierce intellect surrounded by mental pygmies and being trapped with fools like fukkin' Jordan and Peter Andre just made him go a little nuts.... Hell, I'd wanna kill these fukkers myself if I had to spend any time with em.....
March 23, 200619 yr glad you did scott... :)... your a mod now so have to behave! lol.. plus i like kelz, but not her musical taste! lol
March 23, 200619 yr One of the reasons Popular Music is dying on its backside - is because there are less intersting characters in the World of Rock'n'Pop music. Johnny Rotten is a legend coming from an age when Pop/Rock stars did not hire "Image Consultants" & "Personal Assistants" to inform prospective interviewers what they can or cannot ask. One of the reasons Smash Hits magazine has closed is because their are few modern Pop stars who give interesting interviews (Will Young, Charlotte Church, Robbie Williams, Cheryl Tweedy & then you are struggling). Even in the 1980s Smash Hits was worth buying to read which popstar was slagging off which other popstars. To quote Neil Tennant "Reality TV is a cancer in Popular Music & society that has stifled creativity & individuality, where wannabes go searching for fame & fortune first above everything else." Johnny Rotten went on I'm A Celeb to (quite literally) rage against the machine - proved by him walking out when he was a run-away 1-3-on favourite to win the show.
March 23, 200619 yr thats punk ideology in a nutshell... think for yourself! use your brain to become creative in your way.
March 23, 200619 yr Yes I do like Mariah Carey, and so what? Did I ever say she was perfect? No I didn't. This thread is about Johnny Rotten I gave my views on him and then you criticise my music taste and my opinion because it differs from yours? Hypocrisy.
March 23, 200619 yr John Lydon is a living LEGEND. America desperately tries to lay claim to punk and THAT makes my piss boil.... their Ramones, Tubes etc etc etc... just rock bands (rawk at that). Malcolm McLaren and his astonishing punk movement revolutionised music as we know it. OK, so if there'd be no punk there'd never be Green Day, but we can't blame Malcolm for them..... the problem is here, you're just way too young to understand the importance of a figure like Lydon and to see how important people like him are to a music industry.... the other messages on here kind of say it all. We so, so, so need another revolution like punk.
March 23, 200619 yr "Different Strokes, For Different Folks ...... and so on, and so on, and Scooby Dooby Dooby..." - Everyday People by Sly & The Family Stone 1968. Everyone has their own preferences for what music they like & dislike and if we all liked the same music, then music related forums would be dead boring.

Couldn't agree more, The Pistols changed the music industry in the mid/late 70's by sticking 2 fingers up to the music industry "men in suits". Every label wanted them but none could handle them. I lived through this era so saw it at first hand. Maybe they weren't the best musicians, not even the best singers or songwriters but I'm sure glad they happened as they got rid of the progressive middle of the road rock artists who had become stale and were putting the same kind of albums out year after year. :)
March 24, 200619 yr ...and as for strongly disagreeing with your musical tastes, I'll continue to do so whenever you post inanities about REAL living legends. Thank you.

We so, so, so need another revolution like punk. And the fact that you have a Mariah pissing Carey pic in your sig - oh please, darling, if you want divas, please look outside the box and at least find one that can SING (there are plenty of them - Aretha for one)instead of the crippling oversinging that broad passes as a 'voice'. YEUCH. Totally in agreement with you mate... Let's put it this way - Johnny Rotten and The Pistols, living legends, they and the UK Punk movement inspires about three or four generations of UK and American alt/indie/goth/metal bands and trends all the way from the likes of the Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains, The Buzzcocks, Siouxsie, Anthrax, Megadeth, Nirvana, Pixies, Jesus and Mary Chain, Korn, Slipknot, Green Day, Offspring, Marilyn Manson, NOFX, System of a Down... and that's just the ones I can name off the top of my head.... What's Mariah Carey ever inspired? Except people to commit acts of extreme violence on stereos whenever her $h!te music ends up on one..... But to be fair to the US, they have had some pretty creditable Punk bands - Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains, Black Flag, Fugazi, Iggy and the Stooges.....

This thread is about Johnny Rotten I gave my views on him and then you criticise my music taste and my opinion because it differs from yours? Hypocrisy. Not at all, your views on him are clearly based on a total lack of knowlege of a) The Sex Pistols and Public Image Ltd; B) the absolutely NUCLEAR impact the Punk movement - of which Rotten was one of the key players - had in the 70s and the fact that the ripple effects continue to this day in acts like System of a Down, NOFX and Green Day; and c) the fact that you're judging him purely on the $h!te that was "I'm A Celeb..", they tried to make a monkey out of him and he was having bleedin' none of it..... Johnny is one of the most influential musical artists of the past 30 years and he knows it, he's seen it all and done it all and has fukk all to prove.... You can call me and Russt 'musical snobs' if that makes you comfortable, at the end of the day you started with the totally wild and innacurate statements which were based on sod all, I'm defending a great artist who has been utterly misrepresented by a bunch of parasitic b/astards who got the hump when he refused to jump through their hoops....
March 24, 200619 yr I have seen him on a lot of programmes, and I have endured him on several occasions, and everytime I end up with the same opinion, I don't care what kind of movement he started or what group he was apart of, I judge him on what I have seen which is interviews where he seems quite the diva himself, I don't like him at all, and that's all that needs to be said, I don't see why you have such a problem with me not liking him just because you do?

Because you aint judging him on the musical legacy he left behind and you tried to make out that he was some kind of fake, I dont object to you having an opinion, just actually base it on something substantial. The facts are, that unlike certain divas I could mention, he doesn't need some image consultant, manager or some PR Guru to manufacture him ( Malcolm McClaren tried to manipulate him back in the 70s and Johnny was having none of it...), what you see is what you get - he is For Real, like him or loathe him however much you want but don't ever imply that he's a fake.... I'm actually curious to know what artists apart from Mariah Carey you like.....
