Paradis "Toi Et Moi"|| 5th || 256 pts

 

French disco-flavoured pop was Trifoski's flavour of the month for February, a duo going by the name of Paradis represented Utopia (another country that needs to return) in 2014 with "Garde Le Pour Toi", fast forward a few years and Trifoski gave them another crack at it with French #66 chart smash "Toi Et Moi"

 

Much like Oliver's "Electrify", the song surpassed general expectations by racking up 256 points (literally the EXACT same amount as Electrify !!!) but this time going a place higher in 5TH, Trifoski's highest result since 2014's "Sunlight" :o This also brings our Top 10 tally up to eleven *.*

 

South Danaelanda scored their maiden victory in the contest with producers Gareth Emery and Standerwick, and the emotional/euphoric trance tune "Saving Light"~ Yehesi took 2nd with "I Know A Place", another MUNA song that went over very well with the Trifoskian voters, with Hendinia and Pupok filling out the other Top 5 slots with standout entries.

Ahh this was such a gorgeous entry :wub: It just kept hitting me harder every time as I bumped it up to 15 at the last minute! I really didn't see top 5 coming so what a pleasant surprise *.* Trifoski agenda evaporating recently tbh x

RESULT: 17TH

Trifoski were dealt the Ramrynia card for the first ever BJSC Masquerade. Despite more 'obvious' options like Tegan & Sara or Icona Pop, the Swedish duo Smith & Thell were chosen, known for previous entries such as "ROW" and "Hippie Van". The selection team praised "Statue (The Pills Song)" for its infectious charm, and decided it would be a refreshing turn of sound for Trifoski, and tonight the song came home with a delightful Top 20 finish!

Trifoski goes for Finnish band Pepe Deluxé in BJSC 93. Chairman of Trifoski's song contest stuff SevenSeize tonight spoke of the song as "engaging and enthralling", though claimed he wasn't confident about its chances of qualifying in a highly varied Semi 1 field

Three for Trifoski as Hurricane blows away competition

 

It's been over 3 years, and over 30 contests but the Buzzjack Song Contest trophy has returned to Trifoski, where it belongs. Mysterious London group Drones Club instantly took the nation by storm, with "Hurricane" hitting #1 in Trifoski's Official Singles chart within a week of release

 

We caught up with Seven after last night's victory to get his thoughts, as we spotted him walking the streets draped in a massive Trifoski flag:

 

"YA BEAUTY!!! GET THE f*** IN THERE!!!!!!" he stated before heading into a local bar

 

D'yermak'er were the closest opposition with Oh Wonder's "Ultralife" (a rematch from bjsc 59!), Singerpurear grabbed the Top 5 result they should've been getting most of last year, and Rolloland made a huge impact with their stunning debut entry "Routine" in 12th

Congrats Seventy! :cheer: my 12 points to 'Hurricane' mean that you're officially my second fave nation of all-time now in points given, slay x

A well deserved victory *. wonder if this is one that might go on to be a hit single (although it's probably too good for that).

Trifoski 95 Entry in Jeopardy After PWR BTTM Debacle

 

It seemed like the timing couldn't be more perfect; PWR BTTM representing Trifoski with an amazing track 'Answer My Text', coinciding nicely with the band's upcoming breakthrough album Pageant on May 12th..... but reality is capable of pulling some weird shit, and as it turns out, the timing couldn't be more wrong.

 

A post surfaced on Thursday accusing PWR BTTM member Ben Hopkins of sexual assault (among other things), and the band's response certainly didn't help matters (not really coming clean nor denying anything). An unprecedented downward spiral followed- support acts pulling out (citing they'd already heard about Ben's behaviour), details of an alleged assault spilling, dropped by management/label and festivals, and the entire tour being cancelled. Essentially boycotted by the LGBT community, as these accusations fly in the face of the band's general ethos of queer empowerment and 'safe spaces'.

 

Seven issues this statement: "It's been an immensely bizarre and disappointing turn of events, we were originally delighted to showcase this talented band and their new single, and instead they've betrayed everyone's trust (most importantly the trust of their fans). Unless proven innocent, we hereby withdraw any support for the band, and our thoughts go out to anyone that has suffered from this abuse."

 

PWR BTTM's music video for Answer My Text has since been removed from youtube (though the song remains up on bandcamp)

yehesi's lowest score record seems to be in jeopardy as well
