Battles is really good apprantly it is an old song too :o Shocked :o

This math rock classic was essentially a last minute choice- it ended up doing pretty well in all fairness, essentially crossing the 200-point mark if we include the Skall votes

 

Daehun gave Helena Paparizou another song contest victory (12 years after winning Eurovision) with "Haide", a fairly suitable winner for the summer months. Trifoski's 18-pointer, LINES' "Weekends" won a close battle for 2nd, representing Cor Lupus

the slightly too rainy summer months called for a bright, sunny bop and Trifoski delivered it to the masses with new jack swing throwback "Not Enough"! we reckon it turned out pretty well, we weren't sure buzzjack would really gravitate toward a song like this. Thank you guys for all your support x

 

Quintessa grabbed their debut victory with electro swing stomper GYPSY *.* (let it be known that #psychic7/trifoddski called the winner again, you're welcome x), with the Top 5 completed with some high quality tunes; Pariah, Warriors, Danse Avec Moi and Reims!

I am jel of your success this year Mr psychic! Congrats on getting another top 10 to your name in 2017 *.* This was very slick and wouldn't sound out of place on Bruno Mars' latest album. A bit of a grower for moi as well, it was outside of my top 10 in my semi 1 rank but grabbed some final points in the end. <3

I AM IN ABSOLUTE LOVE WITH THIS SONG. So glad it ended up top 10!

 

(And glad I can finally repay some of those 18's!)

I'd like to think this will have wider appeal than you're predicting, it's a bit ~quirky~ but I wouldn't call it super inaccessible! Loving both the song and the video anyway, let's hope semi 2 will recognise this ~

I wasn't crazy about this particular song but was intrigued by the band nonetheless and I like the sound of some of their others. Also, their website is probably the best I've seen all year, so retro and so meme <3

another month another success for Trifoski, we just can't stop. It was tough to come up with an entry for #100 but we eventually settled on this funky, catchy Chromeo banger, that we feel didn't get enough recognition upon its 2014 release (aside from Canada where it was a top 20 smash, props to them!)

we'll be back very soon with a lil 2017 recap/evaluation thing (and there'll be a year-end countdown of course) but our outlook on this year is generally positive :D

2017 has been a pretty good year for Trifoski (especially compared to the last two), to once again get used to the feeling of scoring Top 10 finishes on a semi-regular basis, and see our top quality tracks get the success and recognition they deserve makes me all warm inside on this cold winter night <3

 

I was hoping THE YEAR OF THE ROOSTER would bring a lil good luck charm to our song contest endeavours....lo and behold it actually did! the cryptic Drones Club casually dropped an almighty banger by the name of 'Hurricane' onto Spotify's NU MUSAC FRIDAAAY playlist, and the rest was history. Even ending with a BJSC 59 rematch between us and D'yermak'er (maybe i should have let them win one ? (nah)). And we got to host the thing again the month after, which reminded us that hosting is cool but very much hard work. The year also brought two further Top 10 finishes- Paradis with their downbeat but groovy Toi Et Moi (5th) and Lido's new jack throwback Not Enough (6th)

 

some classics also popped up- the quirky + hugely catchy math rock juggernaut "Atlas" by Battles (which is about as old as BJSC itself now lol) earning a really good result and Chromeo's "Jealous" recently capping off the year with a Top 20 placing

 

As for most of the others: Pepe Deluxe, Amnesia Scanner, Superorganism and Guerilla Toss should have ranked higher obviously, but at least they did qualify to keep up our now 13-month Q streak, that's gotta count for something right?

 

Oh yeah and the PWR BTTM thing happened too. Already touched on that before so i'll just say we still managed a 27TH place out of that, another impressive feat to add to the list!

 

My sister also signed up as Azure and, not gonna lie, absolutely slayed :heart:
