I suppose it probably should've been inevitable that a song called 'So High' would be sampled on a rap song about weed

I like how 'rap song about weed' is basically a synonym for 'Wiz Khalifa song'.

The Magician (ft. Years & Years) 'Sunlight'
4th, 161 points

it might've seemed like a floppy year for Trifoski not long ago, but all of a sudden we've got our 3rd top 10 finish of 2014 thus far! This time with the subtle yet infectious, blazing summer anthem 'Sunlight'. Now the song has made it's mark on BJSC, it may well turn its attention to smashing the charts next month, after being given a new radio edit + music video, and a spot on Capital FM's playlist (follow suit please Radio 1!!). PINA COLADAS FOR ALL, ON THE HOUSE

hosts Aeroche gave the pre-warning of 'twists, turns n shocks', giving the impression the results show would be at least somewhat interesting, and indeed they were! Florina pulled out a healthy lead with the wide-appealing "Circles", but had to settle for 2nd as Persephonia gradually sliced down the gap towards the end, with Cumulonimbia's votes awarding our great allies Persephonia their first ever victory after a few 'near-misses' (not that Dark Star/Empire were achingly close to winning really, but still)

Mr.Kitty's 'Destroy Me' developed into a contender as the contest went on, and despite a slow start it managed to finish in a still-brilliant 3rd place! Jayrusalem finally get a good result again with generic dance-fest 'How You Love Me' (as do Umiiruka with VÉRITÉ's 'Strange Enough' in 8th), and Cumulonimbia nabbed their first proper BJSC smash with Lovelife finishing in 6th  some other Trifoski favourites included Embody in 10th, PANTEROS666 in 12th, Janine And the Mixtape 15th and Deorro in 20th

YES @ you sending one of my former acts! If it's the remix by them, ofc.

This will be big.

I was considering sending this over 'Million Questions' but I decided not to. I know what this is <3

Sorry if I gave away too much :)

NIHILS
'Help Our Souls (Urban Contact Remix)'

"and there's a fire that I once laid, there's a fire but no fire brigade"

Third win for Trifoski plz.

WHY WAS THIS ONE OF MY POTENTIALS LAST CONTEST

The potentials curse: either an artist of mine gets sent the next month and smashes compared to DNQ'ing, or the song I was going to send but back out of smashes.

~BLISS~

(for some reason this sounds to me like it should be a Florence / Calvin song)

NIHILS 'Help Our Souls (Urban Contact Remix)'
9th, 132 points

this month we followed up summer anthem 'Sunlight' with NIHILS' 'Help Our Souls', given a nu-disco spin by former Adonian Republic entrants Urban Contact. we're undoubtedly happy to claim a 4th top 10 hit this year!

the contest was won by Jamvale's entry 'In Your Arms', which suffice to say was not a Trifoski favourite by any means (~shocker~). this comes just 2 months after finishing in 2nd with Lindsey Stirling's 'Shatter Me', making their previous entry 'Earthbound' (31st) look like a slight blip inbetween, to say the least~ Fljótavík notched a runner-up with Karen Harding's 'Say Something', while N DNTN gets the bronze with Yelle's 'Complétement fou'. I'm still convinced the under-appreciated 'L'amour parfait' would've done much bigger things if entered by a more popular nation. Meanwhile Rontvia got back on form with 'Moonwalk Away', and Unovia actually get a good result with 'What I Live For' in 5th. Should've been Odysseus tho.

Twas a good month for some of our favourites; Desbuanda grabbed a well-deserved first hit with 'Graveyard Whistling' in 6th, same applies to fellow newcomers Ajanaeda with Adventure Club & The Kite String Tangle's 'Wonder'. Republic of Adonia get a 2nd top 10 hit with the fabulous 'Say My Name' from ODESZA/Zyra, while our 12-pointer, 2009 classic 'Surf Solar' by Fuck Buttons somehow finished up in 12th place aptly enough! Aeroche's 'DSL Dream Corp' finished in a rather good 16th, while Terra di Campioni's 'Heartbeats' deserved so much more than 19th.

another month, another top 10! heaven knows how, we were expecting a bit closer to 29th than 9th with this one. Nonetheless it's highly pleasing to see Trifoski have knocked the Agenda down another few pegs, THREE CHEERS FOR TRIFOSKI (or 4 rather, cos FOUR IN A ROW BITCHEZ xx)

But enough about me for now, let's have a look at the other bjsc-related happenings: Altyr Muunilinst got their first win with Blonde's "I Loved You", with vocals from Melissa Steel, which racked up an astonishing 249 points! there's very high quality to be seen with the rest of the top 5; Eledan notched 2nd place with their epic night anthem "The Years (Prologue)" by The Midnight (which received our 8 points), Botanikka finished 3rd with the much-hyped "Alchemy" by TALA (our 7-pointer), Espen finally grabbed another smash hit (their first since Trevor Something's "All Night") with Deja's "Heart" (1 point from Trifoski), and N DNTN's wonderfully cute "Broken Flowers" by Danny L Harle in 5th (our 12-pointer!), those lyrics shall be stuck in my head for a while yet~

the remainder of the results saw Oslol pick up another hit with Jennifer Davies' "Lapse of Time (James Njie Remix)" in 6th, Kathaldazia reach 7th with Michael Calfan's "Prelude", Fljótavík achieving an unexpected top 10 with a remix of Andreas Moe's "Ocean", and Kluminican Rep scraping into 10th with "XTC", the 2nd track from R&B newcomer LIZ to reach the final this year.

Desbuanda came close to another top 10 with Hopium's "Dreamers" in 12th, 'Kärenfanghoney' made a big impression with E.S. Posthumus' "Mosane" in 16th, Persephonia claimed 17th with the Purity Ring-produced "Give Me You" by Elijah Blake, Aeroche were a disappointing 24th with the brilliant "Feels Like", a collab between the iconically-named Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and former top 5 finisher Anna Lunoe.

Trifoski are currently holding board meetings to discuss what our final entry of the year will be. There's a pretty good idea of what song will be chosen by the end, but we shall see what unfolds~
