Having listened to it 3 or 4 times now, I have to say I think it's a gorgeous listen. The first 5 tracks are swoonsome. Definite lying in bed on a Sunday morning blissfulness.

 

Then we have a bit of a baggy anthem(?) followed by a royal WTF!

 

Those last 3 tracks are going to take some listening.

 

Who cares whether it's better than Loveless, it's new MBV. (Oh and Isn't Anything was better than Loveless anyway.)

Seems a very nice album. Oh and 'Ecstasy and Wine' is better than 'Isn't Anything' anyway :)

Just listened to Ecstasy and Wine for the first time in an age and it seems like most shoegaze bands took this as their blueprint rather than Isn't Anything!

Well, what's great about Ecstasy and Wine is that it's the exact point where C86 / jangle crossed over into shoegaze. You can also really hear the likes of Jesus and Mary Chain in 'The Things I Miss' for example.

In Another Way is the best song from m b v, IMO. It's one of their best songs ever.
