20. Euphoria (Loreen) - Highest of the four 2012 Eurovision songs appearing on my 2012 year end chart. This of course was also the winner of the contest.

 

 

19. Primadonna (Marina and the Diamonds) - Welsh singer songwriter was number one for 2 weeks in my chart in May and June.

 

 

18. One by one (Laza Morgan ft Mavado) - The only reggae song to top my chart in 2012 but was there for 3 weeks in April and it went on to be a hit in France and elsewhere.

 

 

17. Just give me a reason (Pink) - entered my chart in December and reached number 2 by the year end going on to be number 1 in 2013. It featured and was co written by Nate Reuss lead singer of US band Fun who are still to appear on my 2012 year end countdown.

 

 

16. The future's not what it used to be (The King Blues) - London band fused Punk and Ska and topped my chart for 3 weeks.

 

 

15. Too close (Alex Clare) - Gained international success after being used on a Microsoft ad having been released in 2011 with little success. It stayed at number for 2 weeks in my chart in May.

 

 

14. L'ultimo notte al mundo (Tiziano Ferro) - The Italian singer was at 48 in my 2011 year end chart with "La differenza tra me e te" and at number 8 in my 2009 year end chart with "Breathe gently" featuring Kelly Rowland.

 

 

13. Skyfall (Adele) - The bond theme gave her two weeks at number one in November and has been my favourite song of hers.

 

 

12. Monster (Big Bang) - Deposed Psy from the top spot in my chart in October for 2 weeks before Psy regained the number one position. Another song that also topped the Korean charts.

 

 

11. Locked out of heaven (Bruno Mars) - Lead track from "Unorthodox Jukebox" was number one in my chart for 2 weeks in October/November despite sounding much like a 1980's Police track.

 

 

10. Let's go (Calvin Harris ft Neyo) - Scottish producer who topped my chart for 1 week in June and was a big international hit.

 

 

9. Don't wake me up (Chris Brown) - Topped my chart for 3 weeks in June before it gathered international momentum. Top dance track of the year.

 

 

8. Warrior/worrier (Outlandish) - Number one for 1 week in July for the Danish multinational hip hop group.

 

 

7. Let her go (Passenger) - Alias for Mike Rosenberg UK singer songwriter. Was number one for 2 weeks in November in my chart.

 

 

6. Dark black (Kristina Train) - New York born based in London. Peaked at 85 on the UK charts but did somewhat better on my chart peaking at number one for 2 weeks in December.

 

 

5. When I was your man (Bruno Mars) - Highest of 3 Bruno Mars songs on the 2012 year end chart. This entered my chart at the start of December and was number one for 2 weeks in December and 1 week in January 2013.

As well as featuring at 5, 11 and 35 in the 2012 year end chart, Bruno Mars had 5 entries on the 2011 year end chart with "It will rain" at 9, "Liquor store blues" at 24, "Lazy song" at 30, "Talking to the moon" at 39 and "Marry you" at 49 and twice on the 2010 year end with "Grenade" at 9 and "Just the way you are" at 10.

 

 

4. We are young (Fun) - New York band was number one in my chart in February/March for 3 weeks and was also one of the biggest international hits of the year.

 

 

3. Mi Santa (Romeo Santos ft Tomatito) - Topped my chart for 4 weeks in March/April. The US Bachata singer featured twice in my 2011 year end chart with "Promise" at 67 and "You" at 87 and as at the date of writing in high in my chart with "Soberbio".

 

 

2. Te vivo (Luan Santana) - Was number one for 4 weeks in July/August in my chart for the Brazilian singer predating its number one peak in Brazil. He also topped my chart in 2012 with "Nega" and appeared twice in my 2011 year end countdown with "Quimica do amor" at 6 and "Amor nao e pecado" at 38.

 

 

1. Gangnam Style (Psy) - This song first entered my chart at the end of July in the week it topped the Korean chart and it became the first song to reach one billion views on you tube. It topped my chart for a total of 7 weeks

by which time it had taken the world by storm.
