sorry knocked wrong key, it should continue - which you may find interesting as it mentions simon fuller.
I thought GG voice was good on PI, but I hatedhow biased Cowell was towards him, hence I never really warmed to him. The last couple of songs I heard of his were pretty good. It seemed almost like he was discovering himself and I liked the tone of his voice. I wish him well :) although I won't be buying any of his new stuff unless it REALLY impresses me!

Hope all goes well for him, he had just as much going for him as so many out there, it's luck of the draw I think. I never judge a persons talents by whether they are in favour with the GBP at any one time. Looking forward to hearing some of his own stuff.

Hi everyone, I had been talking you you on the old site, but I must say I have forgotten what my name was, lol

I just read that some of you might be interested to hear what Gareth comes up with. We found this 2 demos online you might like to listen too.

They are called 'Face myself' and 'Something Right', we know they probably did not make his new album or they would no be online.

You can listen to them on this site

http://66.102.9.104/search?q=cache:kl4i46z...lient=firefox-a

Just scroll to the titles. I be interested to know what you think.

Thanks.

These have been on the net for over a year, haven't they? I'm sure they were the ones I listened to ages ago when I was still a regular on CC.

Does anyone know if Gareth wrote the lyrics for these?

Something Right sounds to me very like what Gareth was doing in the Sunshine era. I think he sounds more like the producer's pushing him to be a Justin T there. I prefer Sunshine and his tracks on GYOW where he has the vibe but he puts much more of himself into it.

Face Myself. I like when Gareth uses his lower range. It sounds much richer. Not sure about the backing.

thanks Hasso, you are very welcome here

Yes, I'd certainly be interested in getting updates on Gareth's progress. Perhaps in this one thread would be a good idea. Then anyone who's not interested could just ignore it and those who are could find the info easily.

I should have realised when I posted that news for the gareth fans that the usual suspects would come out of the woodwork and turn it into a debate about his sales etc, they never stop do they.
Desperate Housewives indeed. They've had this out with G's fans so often here, on CC, AI, anywhere and everywhere; they've asked the same questions, done the dog and bone routine and got the same answers back every time. Why can't they just admit that Gareth sold more with his number 1s in other countries than their favourite, instead of bleating... "oh in those countries you don't need to sell much to get platinum" - trying to belittle G's achievements.
that is why I said hasso is very welcome here, at least the same old rot from the chosen few won't rear it's head(hopefully) every time Gareth's name is mentioned if it's in here. Belittling is the word, seems to make them feel better to try to belittle others achievements

I should have just posted the news here. Wondered how long before D'S name was mentioned and it has been by a mod - quote -Shayne Ward's album is bland as white paint. As was Michelle McManus', Darius, Will, Girls Aloud, Liberty X, Kelly Clarkson etc.

ahh, but read on - they are bland in retrospact compared with Live twice...have to say I think although I love both, Live Twice has the sound of someone discovering more and more freedom and different sounds.

and someone thought Dive in was quite good...... :D :D

IMHO these people just want to stir up a backlash of negative comments about every other male artist who was on reality TV - Steve, Shayne, Darius, Gareth it doesn't matter who the original post refers to or even if the original post obliquely referred to any of them. It's tedious and repetitive and doesn't make a jot of difference. Darius doesn't care what the real pirhanas, the UK gutterpress throw at him so comments on the net aren't going to worry him or us.

so true, the negative comments on sites madenot one jot of difference - thinking back to the amount of I hate Darius sites and forums set up after Popstars

Thank you all for the lovley welcome, and regarding certain people, it sticks in their throat that with all the success their idol has, he just did not manage it to be successful abroad. And therefore they belittle the success of Gareth and Darius from overseas.

The way they go on, they must be quite insecure though, lol

You can't blame them bigging up their guy in any thread they can, because members aren't exactly tumbling over each other to read about him on his dedicated forum. It's just wrong to do it consistently at the expense of others. Just ignore them, if you can.

Hope you have good fun rooting out as much info as you can about Gareth. Do you know who he was working with in Scotland?

Yes that we do know, he was writing with Ricky Ross (former Deacon Blue), who also written some tracks for or with James Blunt. :D

Edits to say that we found some songs online where Gareth is co-writer (sometimes first, sometimes second) with Ricky Ross.

When I say found the songs, not the actual songs, but under Writers/Singers the titles of some songs.

That's great. :cheer: The internet is wonderful. I'm sure if there are snatches out there, Gareth's fans will find them soon enough. :D
I just hope now that Gareth has finished the McGuire course (his first solo one as Instructor), that we will hear official news soon. If Joe Mott is right of course, then it wont be until maybe Jan next year now. But I am still hoping we hear and see him sooner.
