Hi everyone, I haven't quite come down to earth yet, lol

Its was absolutely smashing last night, a real small venue, bar at one end, stage at the other.

Gareth sang with a live band and he played the keyboards on some of the tracks too.

His new music is a very grown up sound, loved them all. Some fast ones and some slower ones too. Unfortunately we were not aloud to record or even take photos whilst he was performing.

ITV camera crew were filming though, which means they will show some of it in the program. :cheer:

Really cant wait to hear them all again. :D

but I am so missing Darius music.. it seems I know what everyone esle is up to, and they all seem so busy

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, that you get to have some news soon.

Just one thing, absense makes the heart grow fonder, if that's possible  We've all had to put that theory to the test haven't we

Oh I know that feeling. It'll stay with you linked to that special memory.

Did Gareth by any chance reveal whether any of the 8 songs you heard would be his lead off single?

No he only said there were all of his new album, to be honest my personal feeling is they all could be the single, they were so good. :D

I see your banner still says 23rd so was the 16th just a rumour? Was 23rd confirmed at the gig?
No unfortunately they did not confirm the 23rd, but that is what ITV originally told someone who phoned, so I thought I leave it until we hear different officially. :D

Glad you enjoyed the gig. Looking forward to hearing the new music.

I would feel a bit embarrassed to post this in the Pop Forum but I know you are all friendly in here and will understand........that I watch TMi on a Saturday morning when I can because I love Sam and Mark!!  Anyway,.... Eton Road were the guests this morning and a clip was shown of Anthony from the group singing 'Spirit in the Sky' with Gareth on a 'Top of the Pops' programme. After the clip they were discussing Gareth, saying how good he was and asking what had happened to him.... at which point Caroline said, "I think he will be back - I don't know why - I just feel it in my bones"!!!

So, the wheels are turning, a lot of kids (and me!! :D ) now know that Gareth will be coming back!!

Thank you Julie for telling us what was said on TMI this morning. I'm glad the Eton Road lads thought Gareth was good. And I think he will prove it once he's back

You shouldn't feel embarrassed to post in the Pop Forum. We all have as much right to support whoever we wish, or watch whatever program we want. I'm sure lots of the people who post regularly in the Pop Forum watch TMI just as you do :D

I don't watch Tmi but I've seen that clip. It's on youtube. I must've got to it from an X Factor thread because it was very recent.

I was intrigued when I saw it and wondered when and why Anthony got to duet with Gareth. Was it on one of the kids programmes ? I seem to remember one where 3 or 4 kids did karaoke, one section each of a guest's songs but can't recall if the winner actually got to sing that song with the star.

Hey don't blame me if I was an avid viewer of kids' TV shows for a while - Mercury kept booking Darius on them. :)

thanks Julie for telling us. :) (Oh I love this new x-mas smilies lol)

Baytree it was at the time Gareth sang Spirit in the Sky for Comic Relief, and they did have the competition on the Sat morning program where kids sang songs from a certain artist like Gareth and I think they had Blue and others too, and the winner could then sing with said artist. I actually got that on tape, lol :P

And I even voted for Anthony, thought he was the best. What I liked about the clip yesterday is Anthony saying what a great guy Gareth is.

Thanks, hasso.

It's nice to hear and see the truth spoken rather than biased perception based on 3rd or 4th hand hear'say from a 'source/friend'.

In the Xmas edition of 'New' magazine under the heading 'TV December 16-22' No. 4 of the Top 10 suggested programmes to watch:

"Whatever Happened to Gareth Gates - Saturday, ITV1, TBC

Gareth Gates! Remember him? Of course, you do. As we all know, Gareth was runner-up to Will Young on Pop Idol in 2002. But while Will has enjoyed continued chart success, life hasn't been so rosy for Gareth. The hits dried up and he was dumped by his record label. So what really happened? COMPULSIVE VIEWING."

Thanks Julie, we still have had no official message to actually say when its on, ITV say different days, depending on which number you ring  .

Its funny though them saying his hits have tried up, if there were no releases? Gareth last single went to no 4, but I suppose we are used to papers saying stuff like this. -_-

Whenever it will be on I cant wait to see it.

Thanks Julie. I'm liking the COMPULSIVE VIEWING. Certainly will be for me

I'll have to record it. My father-in-law makes Scrooge seem like the life and soul of the party

Yes at long last 19 have put up a message on the new boards saying its on Sat 23 Dec at 7-30, and it says for the first time Gareth is opening up about all sorts that went on in the last 3 years, plus we see him working on his new music, and of course the great gig will be featured too. :cheer:

Cant wait for it. :D

My family have been warned - it'll be on. My Mum is really looking forward to it as she really liked him.
