Yes at long last 19 have put up a message on the new boards saying its on Sat 23 Dec at 7-30, and it says for the first time Gareth is opening up about all sorts that went on in the last 3 years, plus we see him working on his new music, and of course the great gig will be featured too. :cheer:

Cant wait for it. :D

Thanks for the updated schedule time. Just a few more days!

Of course, there hads to be two things I want to see. It looks like we'll be watching Gareth and taping Sky one

Thanks to everyone who is watching/taping the Gareth program. :D Have you seen the trailer? Suzanne is saying how hard it was for Gareth not to perform the last 3 years. I think its nice they include her in the program, she is after all part of his life.

On the gig he said the song Changes is for a special someone (and it meant a lot to him) and we should listen to the lyrics (not that I remember any, lol), we think its aimed at Suzanne. :D

Well, she has stood by him through the bad times. He'd be daft if he didn't appreciate that kind of devotion. She wasn't in it to gain from reflected glory, just for the boy.
Yes, she seems like a lovely person. I hope they continue to be a happy couple. Seems both Gareth and Darius have done well with their choice of partners :D

I will be taping Gareth, sorry but cant give up missing the final of strictly come dancing, have followed it right through.

Has anyone else watched the documentary yet? Gareth was great but I didn't think they did him justice with this. I was disappointed a bit. I thought it would have been more like the one BBC Scotland did about Darius before Dive In.

However, I really liked what I heard of Changes. I wish they'd given more time to footage from the gig.

I hope they don't but I also fear the tabloids will lift some of Gareth's jokes out of context and present them as serious statements.

I need to watch it without the local interference. I wish they'd put more music in it and less 'try and trip Gareth up' in it.

You, me and lots of others think the same, it semed the program wanted to protray him as a fallen idol, which of course is rubbish.

We all also had hoped they would show more of the music, they could have made it so much better.

But all in all, he came across as a lovely young man, in a what sounded like a serious relationship with Suzanne, who at last can do the music he is passionate about. :D

I cant wait for the album now, Gareth talkes of having done the photos for the album already on his MySpace, so hopefully not too much longer to wait until he promotes, and we can hear the songs in full.

If Simon Fuller had a real grip on this documentary and actually thought it was the best that could have been produced from the footage shot of Gareth and was a great launchpad for the new Gareth, I'd be seriously worried about Darius's continued loyalty to Brilliant19.

IMHO both Simon Cowell and Simon Fuller are distracted trying to run expanding businesses both here and in America and probably no longer give the same personal attention to all the details; something their reputations were built on in the first place.

quote baytree - If Simon Fuller had a real grip on this documentary and actually thought it was the best that could have been produced from the footage shot of Gareth and was a great launchpad for the new Gareth, I'd be seriously worried about Darius's continued loyalty to Brilliant19.

You have posted Baytree exactly what I was thinking when they were promoting Emma bunton and was going to say the same as you this morning but didnt have time to post as had to go out. My exact thoughts on Darius being under 19, they must have had a hand in the production of this documentary for Gareth or at least had prior consultation and if so the result is not good. It in my opilnion skated over everything to a degree and is not a good advert for 19 management. As someone has said I think it was on net that the dvd documentary of Darius I believe not done through 19 was a much better insight.

Something like that where Gareth was given space to talk about some of the songs and what had inspired them and convey some of the real passion he has always had for music, just like Darius. THat's what I was expecting.

I thought the documentary makers exploited Gareth's lack of experience with the media to his gross disadvantage. He was trying to be courteous and helpful but they made him look indecisive and made it appear he was unhappy with himself and wanted an image to hide behind.

I may be completely wrong, Preston, but my impression is there are rival courts within 19management and this documentary looked more like a hatchet job than a promotional TV programme.

At least Gareth has been back on prime time TV and people are talking about him. if that makes them interested enough to listen to his new music, there could still be a positive outcome.

I definitely got the feeling the interviewer was not necessarily on his side, the business of the hat for instance which went on a bit, she could have cut that short immediately but she didnt. I felt the time wasted on that and other things could have been used in a more intelligent and informative way.
I think the whole thing was somewhat of a mess -_- Even the womens voice narrating sounded poor, and I definately feel they were not making any effort to help Gareth. It seemed more like they enjoyed his indecisiveness and request for things to be re-done. I don't think he came over very well, and I don't think it is a fair reflection of how nice a young man he obviously is. I think he is clearly lacking in experience of dealing with the media, and naive in that area too. The little we did get to hear of his voice sounded good though, so hopefully he can get a little momentum going. I thought he was a little OTT suggesting that he may be a mega star in 10 years time. I think he needs to realise he has an awful lot of very hard work to do before he can hope to be as successful as he already has been, never mind moving on from there. I wish him luck.

Last night I watched the documentary on Connie fisher who won the reality show How do you solve a problem like Maria where she was cast in the lead for the Sound of Music. This documentary covered her rise to fame and her home life before etc and it was so brilliantly done in comparison to Gareths. It was how a documentary should be but of course Connie doesnt comeunder the 19 banner who although not producing it must have had a big say in how it went.

I'm afraid they were my feelings as well Paul!! Gareth is a really nice young man and his voice sounded good but I feel he definitely needs to 'harden up' if he is going to cope with all the stress and pitfalls of building up his career again!! Still, I wish him well!! :D
