That's one of the reasons I really wanted Puppet, the video could have been amazing! I can imagine the costumes, the choreography, the fierceness (pardon the pun), it would have been sheer awesome... As much as I love One Shot, I can imagine the video would have been rather generic.

Chasing Lights should have been a single instead of Issues for sure. Here Standing or One Shot should have been singles off Wordshaker, perhaps One Shot as lead single and Here Standing as third and then Died In Your Eyes should have been a single off Headlines.

White Lies sounds TOO good to not be a single.

 

Also as far as ballads go, Last Call >>>>> My Heart Takes Over

Chasing Lights era was perfect singles wise. Then for Wordshaker I'd have gone Ego to lead, then Here Standing at Christmas and Lose Control in the spring. Headlines was fine as well, no need for more than 2 of that. On Your Radar was pretty perfect as well, though I'd have had Get Ready Get Set and/or White Lies after the album, in place of 30 Days.

I think the Chasing Lights era was perfect, although Chasing Lights would have been a beautiful single.

 

Wordshaker needed to release One Shot & Here Standing.

On Your Radar needed to release Get Ready, Get Set, Do What You Want With Me and Faster.

I voted so many I don't even really remember haha.

 

Get Ready Get Set, One Shot, Puppet, Set Me Off, The Way You Watch Me, etc, etc.

I wouldn't change the Chasing Lights era. Maybe had Work as their 1st single and If This Is Love as 5th single?

 

Wordshaker was a COMPLETE MESS! Ego should have led the album, One Shot as 2nd single [January] and Here Standing [March] as 3rd single.

 

Headlines should have been led by Higher [July] (which probably would have been #1), Missing You [september] as 2nd single and Karma [December] as 3rd single.

 

On Your Radar was perfect first two singles! Then, Faster should have been 3rd single leading the album, GRGS [January] as 4th single and then Last Call [March] as 5th single. There was also the scope to release White Lies [June] as 6th single given how strong OYR is!

The album with the most missed single opportunities was definitely OYR. I think either releasing White Lies or GRGS would've saved the album. Faster could've worked nicely as well.

 

Notorious was simply not a good lead single. The song is not as instant as much of their other material and lacks a legitimate chorus. I can't complain about AFU because it did will for them, nor do I have a problem with MHTO being released because I still think it's one of their best songs. It just could've been released at a better time.

 

Lose Control really could've helped Wordshaker too. One Shot is overrated.

Tough one. I think the 'Chasing Lights' era was pretty "perfect", for what they had. But I wouldn't have objected to 'Lies' or 'Chasing Lights' getting released as singles, either. ('Issues' is beautiful! I don't get the hate! :()

I adore 'Open Up' & 'Lose Control', but I'm really not too sure if they'd work as singles or not... LC possibly could have, but it would have performed similarly to 'Work'.

 

Wouldn't change 'Headlines' at all (except, I probably would have just re-released 'Wordshaker' instead of making a "mini album" though.)

 

'On Your Radar' is strange. I can definitely see why they went for the songs they did and in that order. But it didn't work for whatever reason!! If I was to rectify it I probably would have gone:

 

01. 'All Fired Up'

02. 'White Lies'

03. 'Last Call'

04. 'Faster'

05. 'Do What You Want to Me'

Or something along those lines. I still don't know what went wrong with this era! The singles were good (although not the best, but I still stand by the fact MHTO is one of the best things they've recorded.) the flops that the singles were (bar, maybe AFU - but bar the first 2 weeks, it was disappointing the success couldn't continue), was shocking.

Last Call is far superior to My Heart Takes Over, but Last Call would have bombed much harder in the charts.

It was the most cherry picked track from the album, wasn't it? :unsure: I think the UK public liked the standard, simple piano-led ballad as opposed to the big, power ballads at the time.

 

Although, tbf as I stated in my earlier post, the lack of success for OYR is completely baffling. In every sense. It's almost as baffling as Ke$ha's 2nd era flop here in the UK. :(

Lose Control would have helped a lot I feel, it is used for TV and films (St. Trinians 2) and when people have heard it, they've liked it! It's definitely a fan favourite from that era, I could have seen it going top 10. I also adore Open Up, it goes well with Forever Is Over, could have been a nice video and it's a couple of my friends favourite from The Sats whole discography.

I decided to go for the ones I feel most strongly about, which are Here Standing, Get Ready, Get Set (!), Faster and Wish I Didn't Know.

 

One Shot and Wordshaker would've made decent singles.

Notorious would have been much bigger if it was released tradionally, and thus I think AFU would have done better too..

I genuinely think If This Is Love, Forever Is Over and Missing You were awful choices and definitely didn't do as well as other songs would most likely have done. I'd have swapped Issues with Chasing Lights as the latter is less generic and very 'classic Saturdays', and I wouldn't have released Notorious at all as it just isn't radio friendly enough.

I would have loved them to release Here Standing as a charity single. I remember watching them sing it at Help for Heros concert and I just thought 'wow' a video to do with soldiers and those giving their lives for the country would have been amazing! So heart warming.

 

I love Issues, I think Chasing Lights would have been an amazing release possibly instead of JCGE? And an acoustic video with nothing over the top, maybe some clips from tours would be nice!

 

And as you all know I am OBSESSED With Wish I Didn't Know! I would love the video to just be the Saturdays sharing memories with about their Ex-Boyfriends, and I don't know why but imagine how cute it would be if it featured Lawson? This might just be me and my obsession with Mollie and Andy haha but Imagine after Mollie sings the first verse Andy was all 'seeing the laughter in your eyes, seeing the smile I thought was mine'
