Posted August 20, 200618 yr does anyone remember her? she had two singles- when i lost you and automatic. but album was cancelled. shes currently recording and finishing off album, which is apparently set for release at the end of the year. what your thoughts on her, she has this really lovely ballad-close to me.
August 20, 200618 yr Good singer and she's apparently been doing a lot of songwriting for other artists. It will be interesting to see how her sound has developed. When I Lost You's video looked a lot to me as if they were trying to get the same feel to it as Shakira's highly successful Wherever etc. I didn't care much for Automatic.
August 20, 200618 yr I love her  That tune that leaked last year (that eventually turned out not to be her) called Can't Slow Down was also won of my faves of last year! I'll believe she's recording new material when I hear something...
August 20, 200618 yr I loved 'Can't Slow Down', I was gutted when it was revealed that was by someone else. :( 'Automatic' is amazing.
August 20, 200618 yr what is it with this forums fascination for second rate ex popstars? at best s.w. was average, totally unoriginal, just another pop princess wannabe.
August 20, 200618 yr y go on the topic if you dont lke it? have you no concept of what the forum is about?... sorry?..is this a board where you can only praise acts? and dont talk in text speech, its against the rules.
August 20, 200618 yr You weren't just criticising the act. You were criticising people for talking about her, which you went on to do. When I Lost You was great, and she had a lot of the qualities to make it as a pop star, but the timing wasn't quite right for her. If she had the material Rachel Stevens was given she'd have done better. She seemed genuinely interested in music, but lacked the drive to be a big pop star. Maybe she's better off working as a songwriter.

August 20, 200618 yr No matter how disposable you think she is, 'Automatic' remains an absolutely classic song for me. I don't particularly care about her otherwise though.
August 20, 200618 yr Author mushy..... its not all about successful artists, if we like singers who are considered 'flopstars' then we are allowed to like them :P , and she was actually a very good artist. i wouldn't necessarily call a no.6 and no.11 artist a flop.

The sad thing about the industry these days is that if you don't get to #1, it's seen as a flop, which is just ridiculous
