From yesterday! :cheer:

Thank s ros. :D It's a very happy pic, though I hope he gets rid of the full beard before coming back. I admit to not liking it, but then I've always had a violent dislike of beards.

ITV will be the official television broadcast partner for the 37th Olivier Awards with MasterCard, the UK’s highest stage honours, which take place at the prestigious Royal Opera House, hosted by Sheridan Smith and Hugh Bonneville.

The biggest and most spectacular evening in the theatre calendar, the star-studded awards promise incredible performances and illustrious names.

ITV will be screening an Olivier Awards ceremony highlights programme broadcast on the night, shortly after the ceremony ends.

The awards will include performances from two of musical theatres biggest world-wide stars, Matthew Morrison and Idina Menzel.

Performances from nominated musicals will include Will Young and the company of Cabaret, the full companies of A Chorus Line and Top Hat in specially created pieces for the awards night, Heather Headley performing “I Will Always Love You” from The Bodyguard, along with James Bourne of Busted fame singing exclusively from his nominated musical Loserville.

Further show extracts will be announced in due course.

Guest presenters for the awards include Michael Ball, Kim Cattrall, Lee Evans, Romola Garai, Keeley Hawes, Myleene Klass, Damian Lewis, Tim Minchin, Daniel Radcliffe, David Suchet and Will Young.

Last year’s ceremony saw popular musical Matilda create history by winning seven awards, more than any show has won previously.

Thanks to Jackie.

Following his role as presenter at 2012’s Olivier Awards, newcomer Will Young could find the shoe on the other foot for this year’s ceremony as he now stands the chance to receive one of the prestigious statuettes. The pop star, who is nominated for Best Actor in a Musical for his West End debut in Rufus Norris’ production of Cabaret, clearly enjoyed his time on stage. “It was amazing. The whole thing. Rufus, the cast, the work, that musical is just sensational. An amazing story and amazing music.”

Thanks to Abbie.

Speaking on the red carpet, Young said: "I've got a one in four chance. You can do anything with the Emcee. He's the definition of a psychotic man."

The actor, who is performing at the ceremony added: "I've got to get out of this suit and into a lot of leather."

Cabaret is also up for best musical revival with A Chorus Line, Kiss Me, Kate and Sweeney Todd.

Ah well, just pleased Will received recognition for his Cabaret performance with a nomination. It was always going to be difficult to score a victory over such an experienced Musical Theatre star as MIchael Ball.

Yes, he probably needs some more roles under his belt. It was great he got a nomination though he truly deserved it for his great performance! :cheer:

Ahem, now new music please Will! :D I didn't want his head turning too much.

Yes a win may not have been for the best. He has to get his priorities right. :P

Oh what a wonderful sight, gorgeous Will  and a great performance of Wilkommen too, :cheer: shame he didn't win tonight but still so chuffed for him to have even been up for an Olivier in the first place.
