I agree, especially in Sophie's case. If it wasn't going to sell at least a bit consistently it would have dropped more than 10-15 by now.

Most of us predicted a chart-run for the album as something like 9-38-79-OUT at BEST!

 

And I thought I'd never see the day of a held back Sophie Ellis-Bextor single peaking on its FOURTH chart week, even if the peak is in the #39-45 region.

I though the album's chart run would be:

'Wonderlust' is indeed at #2 in last week's official iTunes chart which is basically the official Russian albums chart for now. (Chart compiler of overall sales had been unfortunately closed in the end of 2012 due to its losses, and the current physical sales in Russia are close to zero, in legal market streaming is taking over).

 

And Apple sends press-releases to lenta.ru, the leading Russian independent Internet news agency, weekly, who post them.

 

Edit: and iTunes weekly album sales for #2 probably count estimately for 500-700 copies.

If it's about I-tunes, that near 300-500 copies, maybe even less.

Physical market always was very weak (especially for non-Russian artists) and officially dead in last 2-3 Years.

Trip The Light Fantastic apparently made #3 in Russia, and Make A Scene #12 according to Wiki.

Album is still top-5 in the midweeks, and 'Young Blood' has shot up to 28 and 60 in iTunes of all sudden.

 

This woman never fails to surprise me, and finally she does that in a good way.

 

Edit: the last time she was this high in iTunes when 'Heartbreak Make Me a Dancer' was released peaking at #11 in iTunes.

Very true :lol: I'm honestly loving every second of this - obviously she's still not exactly a chart force but to see her being somewhat relevant again transports me back to when I was about 6 :drama:

This is a great era so far for sophie she's deserves it.

 

He's on the Alan Titchmarsh show on Friday (7th) for some more promo ;).

Why is 'Make A Scene' still being sold at like around £10 online still, it's been like this for ages been keeping my eye out for a cheapo deal on it but it never goes down :lol: Surely it should be like £2 by now.

Probably because they only printed a small number of CD's knowing it would sell next to nothing.

Glad to see her having some success with this new sound, finally gave the album a listen and whilst its not particularly to my taste its a pleasant surprise after Make A Scene. My favourites so far are The Deer & The Wolf, and Love Is A Camera.
