I think she will manage that, the single has not totally plummeted so far this week.
Third week in the top 10. :D

I saw her at G-A-Y last night and she was ace, this was her setlist:

Murder On The Dancefloor

Young Blood

Runaway Daydreamer (first time she had performed it anywhere, apparently)

Get Over You

Groovejet/Lady (Hear Me Tonight)/Sing It Back

Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer)

Yes Sir, I Can Boogie

I could see the crowd all talking to each other and ignoring her during the two Wanderlust tracks, whilst not too surprising given the venue it is I did feel quite bad for her.

She should have performed the setlist in a different order. The thing about the G-A-Y audience is their v. (oh whats the word) fickle. If she'd separated the two songs they probably would have got a bigger reaction.

  • 1 month later...

Live performance at Earth Hour event, from 30th minute onwards.

The performance is perfect in its intimacy. The crowd is quite non-reacting but that didn't spoil the beauty of the gig.

Tracks:

"Runaway Daydreamer"

"13 Little Dolls"

"Young Blood"

"Love Is a Camera"

"Murder on the Dancefloor"

"When the Storm Has Blown Over"

Going to see her next week! Can't wait.

She also performed 13 Little Dolls on Andrew Marr's show

Single is doing nothing (#311 in iTunes) but the album is up to 32 in the albums chart!!

Funny how in the interview she told she'd be happy with the top-75, maybe a top-40. HA.

I think she's also outsold 'Trip' now, and it's not long to Silver status!

She's far from my favorite artist but when I think of artist I want to do well Sophie is pretty much on top of that list. I don't know why but something has me rooting for her. Very happy for her the album is back to #32. Hopefully it can be an even bigger success. Although I'm sure it has already widely exceeded everyone's expectations.

Meanwhile, this album is growing on me a lot.

I don't think commercial success was on her mind when she first created the album...

I went to see Sophie last night it was amazing!!.

So, as soon as the doors opened I got to right at the front of the stage and had a great view. The support act was Us Baby Bare Bones they started at 8pm till 8:30 (I never heard of them before) but they was amazing if you like bjork or Roisin Murphy, nine times out of ten you'll love them they played five songs.

Sophie starts her set at 9:05 with Birth Of An Empire, she looks immaculate and sounds amazing, Then she continues straight on to Until The Stars Collide, after that she speaks to the audience thanks everyone for coming, and asks how we are, then introduces Runaway Daydreamer (one of my favourites from the album). Sophie says she's glad to be back in Oxford she loves all the sights and sounds here and said what her and husband got up to in the day time. Then we went to a song from shoot from the hip called I'm Not Good At Not Getting What I Want and she says that's still true, next was The Deer & The Wolf.

Sophie chats again to the audience about how Young Blood had to be the first single and talked about the album, how she wanted to fund it herself and be her own boss and got a massive cheer for that. She also name dropped that Brendan Cole was there (I had seen him whilst I was in the queue waiting to get in), anyway she sings Young Blood. Next up was a song when she was in the band TheAudience (no gap in the name) A Pessimist Is Never Disappointed was the song, Sophie said there's a swear word in the lyrics but she couldn't bring herself to swear in front of us.

Next up was a brilliant version of 13 Little Dolls, again Sophie chats to the crowd saying the next song Love Is a Camera is about a witch who takes her soul every time she takes her picture, she also says AFTER THE SHOW SHE WILL BE SIGNING AUTOGRAPHS!! AND SHE WILL SIGN ANYTHING YOU WANT HER TO SIGN. She did admit it was the second night of the tour and on last nights show 2 people got her autograph tattooed on them (look on twitter that's true!!) she also spoke about the Wanderlust Vinyl album she was joking and said she didn't know what it was and it was too big for her CD player or you could use it as coffee coaster. So the final Wanderlust song she performed was Cry To The Beat Of The Band Sophie and the band leave the stage after the song.

**Costume Change**

Sophie walks on starts performing Take Me Home (she said she's just rang everybody's bosses and said they can all have tomorrow off as they are partying tonight, she asked if we had our dancing shoes on as she wanted to see us dance now), now she begins her medley of Lady (Modjo cover) Groovejet and Moloko's Sing It Back. She thanks everyone for coming and she said it means the world that everyone came tonight for her, she starts clapping her hands in the air and asks us to jump up and down for Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer), The final song now sophie wants us to dance our butts off with Murder on the Dance floor and makes the crowd sign some lines , Sophie exits the stage the band play on to a big applause and cheer.

About a minute after the band stop playing Sophie is now at the back of the venue with Ed Harcourt she signs Interlude (from wanderlust) 100% a cappella and the show ends! It was a unique way to end the show!!. I had a blast.

Now we wait for Sophie to change and do an autograph signing.

(At the merchandise stall they had on sale Wanderlust Mug £6, two different t-shirts for £15 each a black one just saying Wanderlust in white writing and a white one with the album cover and the tour dates at the back, I brought this, A Wanderlust Poster £5, and the Vinyl £18, Standard Cd Album £10 and Bookbound version for £12. The only other thing on sale was Make A Scene album on cd was £5).

So Sophie arrives and signs anything and everything people ask, she is so polite and chats to everyone, she also wrote different things of people's stuff like best wishes, nice to see you, etc then signing her name.

So when I see her she was very chatty and signed my book bound version of Wanderlust and had a picture taken with her happy days!! :).

Sounds like you had a brilliant time :o Congrats on getting a photo with her.

Yeah it was amazing she really was great and kind enough to chat to fans and do autographs. (She's done it in the first two shows so far).

Tonight it's the first London show and it's her birthday !!

Great to see the album at #32 in the midweeks and on twitter she confirmed there will be a third single!!.

I hope it would be "Love is a camera". But judging from her promotion, I suspect we could get "13 Little Dolls"...
