July 10, 201311 yr Ryan lets remember aswell that Lucy's just come off the XF and has probably maintained most of her fans, but Diana been's away for 3 years and only her loyal fans have stayed and probably only a few more extra fans have been gained now!! Really hope she does well though!
July 10, 201311 yr Author Ryan lets remember aswell that Lucy's just come off the XF and has probably maintained most of her fans, but Diana been's away for 3 years and only her loyal fans have stayed and probably only a few more extra fans have been gained now!! Really hope she does well though! Oh no, I wasn't suggesting Diana will do as well as Lucy will do overall. I was just saying that their pre-orders have done similarly (both peaked between 150-220 on iTunes when the pre-order was released and have only made 1 or 2 brief re-entries in the top 1500 since), so wherever Lucy enters iTunes on Sunday will probably be quite similar to where Diana will enter the following Sunday. I have no doubt though that Lucy will definitely make more progress from the initial iTunes entry on release night as like I have said before, if Diana can get top 75 it would be a fantastic achievement for Diana. On the other hand, I expect Lucy to chart within the top 25. I hope that makes sense!
July 11, 201311 yr Does anyone else get a Nicola Roberts vibe from Diana in terms of material and concept? Maybe it's the 'Cinderella' connection () but I just feel there's a sort of online cult following with both these artists... If 'Cinderella' and Music To Make The Boys Cry did as well as 'Beat Of My Drum' and Cinderella Eyes respectively, I'd be happy for Diana. Edited July 11, 201311 yr by SceneofSIXCrimes
July 11, 201311 yr Author Does anyone else get a Nicola Roberts vibe from Diana in terms of material and concept? If 'Cinderella' and Music To Make The Boys Cry did as well as 'Beat Of My Drum' and Cinderella Eyes respectively, I'd be happy for Diana. I see what you mean, Diana and Nicola are very unique artists I think! :D If Diana's album and single did as well as Nicola's then that would be incredible considering Nicola had quite a lot of support, especially with 'Beat Of My Drum' if I remember correctly. I think if Diana can get a top 75 single and top 40 album, that'd be a massive success for her and anything better than that would be an unbelievable achievement. I know several people in the chart forum seem to think 'Cinderella' will be getting into the top 40, but I just don't see it with the lack of airplay - I really hope they are right though!
July 11, 201311 yr I'm in two minds re: 'Cinderella' chart-wise. Part of me thinks that Diana, like with other XF contestants (Leona/Alex), could get a high peak for a song with low airplay. Obviously I'm not saying Diana's radio support is anywhere similar to Leona/Alex's but both artists have gone top 5 with singles that have received very poor radio airplay (judging by radio charts). Likewise, I can see Diana maybe going top 30 despite poor airplay. Also, these days with the central role of Youtube, social media etc, I can see it only benefiting Diana tbh. But then the other half of me thinks it'll scrape top 75. I really have no idea. :P She's not getting played on the music channels. :(
July 12, 201311 yr Author It really is going to be a very interesting release, it should initially enter iTunes (the first time iTunes updates after midnight on release day) around #100 based on how previous single pre-orders have done (such as Amelia Lily's 'Party Over' managing this even though I never saw that pre-order in the top 1500). It will all depend on how many people will download it that haven't pre-ordered it and we have no idea how many people that might be! Top 75 is definitely my target for the song so I hope 'Cinderella' can achieve that. Excitingly, if you combine the 'Cinderella' lyric video and music video, 'Cinderella' has now passed 1 million views with approximately 750,000 views for the music video and 250,000 for the lyric video! :cheer:
July 12, 201311 yr She's not getting played on the music channels. :( Yes she is lol, I've seen her about 4 times now on music channels!
July 12, 201311 yr Yes she is lol, I've seen her about 4 times now on music channels! I skip through all of the Sky music channels on a daily basis and haven't seen her once. Not even on Chart Show TV...
July 12, 201311 yr I skip through all of the Sky music channels on a daily basis and haven't seen her once. Not even on Chart Show TV... So what? That doesn't mean it's not being played, just that you've missed it.
July 12, 201311 yr I skip through all of the Sky music channels on a daily basis and haven't seen her once. Not even on Chart Show TV... You must be on the wrong channel at the wrong time lmao
July 12, 201311 yr Author I only have 4Music and VIVA, but I've yet to see the 'Cinderella' video on there. :( I think someone commented earlier that they have seen it on VIVA if I remember correctly though!
July 15, 201311 yr Author You can listen here to an interview with Diana on Radio 2 along with acoustic versions of 'Cinderella' and 'Another Love', a cover of the Tom Odell song! Also, here is a short preview of Diana on Chart Show TV: 2uwvX8AQOyw
July 17, 201311 yr Author Diana was interviewed and performed the acoustic version of 'Cinderella' on BBC Breakfast this morning! It's so good to see her on TV again and her fantastic performance made the 'Cinderella' pre-order climb back into the top 1500 of the overall iTunes chart! :D
July 17, 201311 yr I'm looking forward to buying it, but not so much watching it on the iTunes chart.
July 18, 201311 yr Author So 'Cinderella' is released in Ireland tonight I think! Hopefully she can go top 100 but I have no idea how it will do there. All I know is that the pre-order got to around #200 when it was initially made available.
July 18, 201311 yr Author Does anyone have a video link to her performance? On BBC Breakfast? If so here is the interview and here is the performance. They are on the BBC website so they probably only stay online for a week (if it is like the iPlayer) so you'll need to watch them quickly! :kink:
