The rumours did originate on Monday (so it could be a fool), but websites are still posting the news that Beyoncé and André 300 will cover Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" for the soundtrack to the upcoming The Great Gatsby film, which will be wholly produced by Jay-Z.

I'm not sure the pair would do the song justice; Amy's voice is pretty perfect for the film I'd have thought from trailers etc. Ah well, we'll see...

Original article.

MTV article (from Tuesday).

It certainly sounds...interesting. I'll wait for a full version before judging it, but it's not really a song that requires being covered, ever.
Funny, I watched the trailer at the Cinema last night but I didn't notice Bey singing!

Beyonce sounds lovely, however this cover is entirely unnecessary and the arrangement takes out all the soul in the song. I will continue to listen to Amy's version, sorry Bey.
I blame the terrible instrumental and Andre's part. I'm sure if Bey sang over the original instrumental I'd love it more than Amy's version.
I really don't like André's rap, Bey's part sounds fine but I definitely prefer the original overall. It's an okay cover.
Is that the actual final version?! Bloody hell it's bad. Beyoncé's bit is good, but what on earth is André 3000 doing? He sounds like a Google Translate robot. Disappointing.

I absolutely loved this when I heard it last week! Such a brilliant take on 'Back to Black'.

I love Amy's version so much so I'm glad Andre and Beyonce reworked it and made it into such a cool jazz song. I really hope this manages to spend a week 40 when the GG soundtrack is released.

I actually really like this. I know a lot of people don't like André's part, and I can see why, but I still think it's a great take on a perfect song.
I'm gonna be the mood killer, I think Andre ruins it, Beyonce's alright on it though.
There is a Destiny's Child forum, you know. As I said on there, her vocals arlight but the production destroys any meaning behind the song and Andre's part is diabolical. Completely unnecessary mess.

How does the production ruin any meaning behind the song?

And I actually love Andre's part. Obviously people will compare his part to Amy's version where she actually sings it whereas he just speaks it. I've got a lot of time for Andre 3000.

How does the production ruin any meaning behind the song?

Because it is way too over-produced, meaning the emotion for me is watered down.

Does anyone have a HQ download link for this song? If so, could you PM me?

I really wish I could download it but iTunes have made it album only.
