Midweeks:

1 Eminem 73k *

2 James Arthur 37,6k *

3 Tinie Tempah 17k *

4 Andre Rieu 14,1k *

5 Shane Filan 11,4k *

I'm happy to see him at no.5. Considering everything, I think sales are not that bad - Eminem is huge while James had a huge media promo and everything. Am I right? I mean, the album sales have been dreadful all year.

This is slightly off topic, but I have to say I am very glad to finally see very high sales (Eminem) in the album chart - he could easily reach 130K if he keeps it up.

I would love to see Shane pass 20K.

He is still at no.5 in the midweeks today, I wasn't expecting that.

He is officially #3 in Ireland.

single????

It is #60 - but that is totally expected as no one bothered to promote it - the single was simply sacrificed for the sake of the album.

Very very solid album. Have listened to this more than Eminems which I did not think I would say. Praying for top 5. Any news on how it's doing elsewhere? Shame he did not do a proper cover of 'Amazed'

Shane tweeted this:

My Debut Album is No6 in UK chart !!! Thankyou u all so much guys !!

Celebrating in Singapore !!!!!

This is amazing result for him, especially considering how big competition was and how very little he promoted it without appearing on important shows.

He is no.1 in Singapore, Shane tweeted it:

Just heard more good news! My album is No1 in Singapore on official Amped chart! #YouAndMeSingapore Thank you all!

By the way, his single ended up at #54 in the UK - considering he hasn't even mentioned it once on social networks it is out, the result is good.

Here are the sales:

5 The Overtones 19,198

6 Shane Filan 18,451

as you can see, VERY close to no. 5

Also, an interesting report on Haven:

Had Shane Filan debuted at number one this week he, and not Eminem, would have had more number one albums in the 21st century than any other act but the 34 year old former Westlife star has to settle for a number six entry (18,451 sales) for his solo debut set, You & Me. Filan's debut solo single, Everything To Me, and follow-up About You - which debuts this week at number 54 (4,599 sales) - are both on the album.

That would have been cool but this is also great. Besides, had he released it in July, he would have been no.1 as I remember Thicke went to no.1 with only 20K sold.

Great sales for this climate and a great position. Really surprised About You got as high as #45 I thought we'd be lucky to see it Top 100!!

So #3 in Ireland and #6 in the UK and doing very well in Asia, hopefully this is all good for him! :)

Single #3 is 'Knee Deep In your Heart' - he's performing it on Paul O' Grady tomorrow.

Thought I would post his performance of 'Coming Home' from Daybreak though as it was flawless.

It truly was! I swear I have NEVER heard him mess up, and I've been a Westlife fan since their third album.

He's never out of tune it's so weird! He must be the most consistent pop singer ever! The amount of times he's sang 100% live under a lot of pressure and he just doesn't sing off key, he does however forget the words a lot especially in concert! It's funny though! I'm glad it looks like he's getting a bit more promo now. His label were smart to try and push him this week a bit when sales are up for albums. Hopefully he'll get a bit of an increase in the UK. :)

GREAT news:

Shane will sing on the final X Factor night, he will do a duet with X Factor act Nicholas McDonald singing Flying Without Wings!

Even though they are singing a Westlife song, this should help Shane with sales. At least I hope it does :)

Woohooo! Although mark owns that song so I'd personally of preferred if they got him out for it. Great promo for Shane though, hopefully he gets a boost from it as in the UK he's not being doing great. Must admit I haven't been listening to the album all that much, it's very consistent but not enough variety I guess.

I definitely agree Mark owns the song, but his career hasn't started yet so it is perfectly normal Shane is singing - plus, i'm sure Walsh pulled some strings to get him on the show.

Nicholas said he is very honored as he is a massive Westlife fan :)

I understand what you mean about Shane's album, but I think it is great that it is very consistent - it just shows he has found his sound, he isn't lost like some artists are.

But i do think he needs to take more contemporary pop/rock vibe on the 2nd album if he wants bigger success - this album is very good, but this kind of easy-listening, mellow songs aren't popular right now.

But I have to say I can listen to the album again and again, it doesn't bore me at all - it just has this postive happy vibe which is infectious.

Shane said this on Twitter:

I have just been confirmed as the opening act for Garth Brooks in Croke Park in July. I am so excited.

That is amazing, I bet he is over the moon, as he is a HUGE Garth Brooks fan.

And it is no doubt amazing for his solo career.

Sure, he sang on Croke with Westlife 4 times already, but it is a great honor for him to open for a legend like that, AND 160 000 (because Brooks is playing 2 nights) will see him perform solo which is his biggest crowd yet.
