13.Whole Lotta History - 9.43

(Highest: 11 Jonjo, Calum sande, Acoustic, JosephVickers, Lukuzz)

(Lowest: 7 THEO)

At unlucky #13 is 'Whole Lotta History' coming 2nd from the Chemistry album. The highest ballad in the countdown, unless you count Call The Shots, and the 11th highest single in the countdown. For me personally this is their 2nd EVER best song only being beaten by S!NNN. The song did gather a lot of high rates at the beginning but then it got a few lower although non lower than a 7 and gaining a 9.43 average overall. I wish it had got Top 10, but not far off will have to suffice.

12. The Loving Kind - 9.45

(Highest: 11 Silver Rocket, JosephVickers, Leonardo)

(Lowest: 8 jamesy, Davidson, THEO.)

At #12 is 'The Loving Kind' coming 2nd from the Out Of Control album and coming 10th from all of the singles, gaining a 9.45 average and getting nothing less than an 8 out of 10 rate. As much as I love the song, and I think it is by their best ever video I'm still shocked this got so high and beat The Promise. The highlight for this song for me is Nicola's verses and like I said earlier the video is perfection. And who can forgot the fact that this song spurned the tragic out of tune note from Sarah on GMTV all those years ago, as well as the song apparently being hate by Nicola herself

Pleasantly surprised to see 'Whole Lotta History' this high. I always thought it was very underrated and that I was one of very few who considered it a highlight. Certainly I think it's the only time they really nailed a ballad.

Would have liked to have seen 'The Loving Kind' a little higher. For a woman who released such an amazing solo album, Nicola really does have appalling taste in Girls Aloud singles doesn't she?

'The Promise' is around about where it should be. It's very good, but will forever have that status of being their most overrated single for me. Pleased to see 'Graffiti My Soul' as one of the highest album tracks. The second album campaign was handled pretty brilliantly, but it still would have been nice for it to have been a single. 'Memory Of You' is very, very good, but I'd question it being their fourteenth best song.

Nice to see some love for 'Singapore' too. Always one of their most forgotten gems.

"The Promise" being that low is ridiculous, especially below "Whole Lotta History", "Graffiti My Soul" and "Memory Of You" -_- And with "Love Machine" out too, I'm fully routing for a "Biology" win!

'Graffiti My Soul' is a sheer masterpiece.

'Memory Of You' deserved more than to be a B-side, it's pretty much single material.

'The Loving Kind' is one of my favourites, for me it's a much improved 'Call The Shots' and I adore the video.

11. No Good Advice - 9.47

(Highest: 11 – Jay, dj_tim_e, Silver Rocket)

(Lowest: 7 – Jonjo)

At #11 just missing out on the top 10 is 'No Good Advice' which is 2nd from the album Sound Of The Underground behind the title track and is 9th out of all the singles! A brilliant single from the Girls and what that can sometimes be a bit underrated I think, but I think this is a very good position for it, higher than I expected tbh.

The Top 10 will be coming tomorrow,

These are the songs left in the running:

Biology

Call The Shots

Girl Overboard

On The Metro

Sexy! No No No...

The Show

Something Kinda Ooooh

Something New

Sound Of The Underground

Untouchable

'No Good Advice' was always by FAR my favourite, pure pop genius.

I was about to say they'll never top it, before realising how silly that would sound...

'Singapore' is a delight (did I really give it 11, though? :o)

Apparently so

I just checked, and you gave it an 8.5...

Surprised The Show has made the top 10, always thought it was one of their weaker singles. Though the performance on the Ten tour was fantastic.
I just checked, and you gave it an 8.5...

Apologies, that's my fault. The user who gave it 11 was actually Girl Overboard. Thanks for pointing that out to me :)

9. On The Metro - 9.5

(Highest: 11 Davidson, JonPMQ)

(lowest: 7 troublepink)

Starting off the Top 10 we have our first of 2 tie ways in in the Top 10. Firstly we have 'Sexy! No No No...' from Tangled Up which comes 3rd from that album with 2 songs left still fighting for the #1 and coming 8th of all the singles. For Me S!NNN is GA's best EVER song and probably one of my favourite songs of all time, its just epic, and the performance from the TU tour was one of the best intros to any tours I've seen, it may have got a little higher if someone hadn't gave it a 1  Also at #9 is 'On The Metro' one of the 4 new tracks from Ten and coming 2nd out of those tracks with SN still in the running, the song co-wrote by Nicola was instantly a fan favourite and really would have made a fantastic single, it was one of the highlights on the recent tour and really shown what they could have done if they hadn't have bowed out of the industry.

8. Call The Shots - 9.6

(Highest: 11 Jamesy, dj_tim_e, Jay, Girl Overboard, Theo. Acoustic)

(Lowest: 4.5 Silver Rocket)

At #8 in the countdown is 'Call The Shots' from the album Tangled Up, coming 2nd from that album and 7th of all the singles. Call The Shots is definitely a favourite by many and I think it really introduced them to a wider audience and gained a lot of critical acclaim and recognition from people who had previously snubbed them, despite it not becoming a #1 single which it probably should have been. Tbh I'm shocked this song isn't at least Top 3, before starting I actually thought this might be the winner but although it got a high average of 9.6 there are still another 7 songs above.

At #7 is 'Girl Overboard' from Tangled Up, the #1 song from that album and also the #1 non-single track! Girl Overboard is definitely a favourite track and I think a lot of people where shocked to not see it being released as a single! The song is so catchy and brilliant and was great on tour. I'm a little shocked this got above Call The Shots (only just mind) but I'm glad its the top album track. With this now out of the running 6 singles fight for the win.

At joint 5th place (the last tie in the countdown) we firstly have 'Sound of The Underground' from the album of the same name, their debut single which reached #1 back in 2002! The song is still as popular as it was back then with fans and still sounds fresh and has aged brilliantly imo. Gaining nothing less than an 8 and overall a 9.7 average. Also at #5 is 'The Show' the top song from album What Will The Neighbours Say their 5th single released back 2003. I'm pleasantly surprised this song is so high, for me it is one of their absolute best and most of the time seems to get overlooked and forgotten about, their current performance of it on the Ten tour was the highlight of the whole night for me and maybe that's got something to do with hit being so high. It received nothing less than a 7 and also a 9.7 average.

4. Something New - 9.75

(Highest: 11 AdamAloud, dj_tim_e, Jay, Calum Sande, Theo. AaronTM, Joseph Vickers)

(Lowest: 8 Leonardo, Jonjo)

At #4 is 'Something New' the Girls comeback single from the album 'Ten'. After being away for over 3 years they finally returned with this gem. An Amazing song that I think will remain a classic from their catalogue it has energy and quirkiness and is a great song to dance to. The performance on tour was a lot of fun! Gaining an average of 9.75 and receiving nothing less than an 8 there is a lot of love for this song.
