Posted August 15, 200618 yr Ronan Keating - Iris http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/1705360.JPG Originally written and performed by US rock band the Goo Goo Dolls, 'Iris' became a worldwide radio favourite after being used in the soundtrack for the Nicholas Cage/Meg Ryan film 'City Of Angels'. Ronan Keating decided to cover the track after meeting the Goo Goo Dolls lead singer John Rzeznik in New York a couple of years ago whilst performing with LeAnn Rimes. Ronan recently performed the track in Berlin in front of 500,000 people at the Brandenburg Gate as part of the World Cup opening celebrations and got a nod of approval from Pele who was dancing in the wings! August 16, 200618 yr Goo Goo Dolls are the best band! EVER...lol well maybe not but they are one of my favourite bands fer sure. Ronan's version is the same only he does not sing it as well. lol
August 17, 200618 yr It's funny because I'm pretty sure the Goo Goo Dolls' version is higher in the iTunes chart than Ronan's. If anything he's going to be pushing their sales up :lol:

August 19, 200618 yr Well the single may not be doing well in the chart, but at least it's perked up the album, massive jump last week and was sitting just outside the top 20 in the midweeks, so people are buying the album instead which I'm sure will please the label more than whether or not the single goes top 10 <_< The label were fore-warned though, a lot of UK fans were not happy about him releasing Iris as a single (too well known), they were also not happy with the Track list (no new songs on either disk).They also aren't habitual downloads:rolleyes: I downloaded his live acoustic version of the song on I-Tunes its different, but very good, better than the recorded version actually. August 19, 200618 yr i love irish people especially the singers they are all great! Well we do have some excellent bands ^_^ But the likes of Ronan, Westlife and Bozone are dire <_<
