I watched the trailer yesterday and really enjoyed it. I am really looking forward to seeing it, it's got one hell of a cast.
Strong cast. I look forward to this. Julia Roberts looks like she is gonna be fantastic in this. Meryl being fabulous goes without saying obv.

Could Meryl Streep actually be in a good film?!

Unsure about the director but that cast is undeniable and the play was apparently quite something. We'll see.

This film should come with a warning: contains extreme ACTING (in capitals).

I mean it's very good and virtually everyone is great, but the whole thing felt a bit too knowing for me. Yeah, I mean it's obvious they wanted it to go up for awards, but it feels like it was edited in such a way as it felt really weirdly obvious.

Anyway, I wasn't familiar with the content of the play at all so was very pleasantly surprised by the story. Basically from the big dinner scene on I was hooked and it's quite the emotional rollercoaster, and the final scene(s) are really quite sad indeed, but it was those slightly more intimate moments where the real acting (not in capitals) shone through: Meryl obviously, but I think it was kind of Meryl on autopilot more than anything. Julia was brilliant (I've always been rather sceptical of her abilities), but I was very pleasantly surprised by Margo and Julianne Nicholson. The latter who has also been brilliant in Masters of Sex the last few months too. So yeah, great film, some great performances, 8.5/10.

I watched this film two weeks ago. I really liked this movie. It has very good script and Julia Roberts was great for her acting!!! I hope she will take the Oscar because she was very good and her role was quite interesting but Lupita Nyong'o was also great in "12 Years A Slave"..Tough decision..

I watched this yesterday and was very impressed. I wasn't sure what to expect having not seen the play/read many reviews, but I thought it was great - Meryl obviously, along with pretty much everyone else. It was very shocking more than anything, I'm surprised they managed to make the comic moments work but it was a nice tension-breaker from the seriousness of the rest of the film. I'm surprised it's mainly received award nominations for acting when there are so many other great elements to the film.
