Posted May 11, 201312 yr Since late 2011 I've compiled a weekly personal chart from new releases discovered through a variety of routes, at present primarily by searching the new additions to Spotify using spotifyreleases.com. This means I discover a lot of new music that you won't find anywhere else. Tomorrow, for the first time, I will post this personal chart to Buzzjack. Everything included in the chart is on Spotify, so the chart will be fully playable by anyone with access to that service. Anyone who is into any of the following genres: Indie, Rock, Folk, Punk, Ska, Alternative pop or the sort of Pop that just doesn't get played on the radio any more - I strongly recommend you check out my chart. If you're into upbeat songs with a big hook that get your toes tapping, definitely check out my chart. As most (but not all) of the bands will be non-mainstream, I will provide an indication of the genre of each track alongside the countdown. To name just some of the artists who've featured in Milliways' Alternative Chart over the past month or so: Acres of Lions, Big Deal, The Black Ghosts, The Bunny The Bear, Crowns, Eron Falbo, Everclear, Far From Finished, The Fireworks, Frightened Rabbit, Here Is Your Temple, Me, You & Thomas, Michigan City Vandals, Nina Nesbitt, Paramore, Saturday's Heroes, Skumdum, The Thermals, The Touchy Feelies, Tullycraft, The Vaccines, Veronica Falls... Chart rules * New release singles and E.Ps (up to 7 tracks in length, excluding remixes) are eligible. * Must be on Spotify. * No re-issues of tracks that have previously been in the UK Top 40, or are from a hit album. Re-issues of old tracks that were not hits the first time around are OK. * No re-entries of songs that have already been in the chart. * Covers of tracks that have previously been in the UK Top 40 must be musically distinct from the original.
