Placebo finally announced details on their 7th album Loud Like Love, released on September 16th.

 

I'll always have so much love for this band, they have kind of lost it for me at this stage but I hope they can reclaim their magic.

I'm really looking forward to this. I actually loved Battle for the Sun, maybe not as much as Meds but it was a great album.

I did like Battle Of The Sun, but it was basically a re-tread of old ideas. They even recycled previous lyrics in some of the songs!

Musically it was different, though. A lot more mainstream, especially compared to their earlier stuff.

Interesting to see where this will take them, not overly convinced by the most recent album, but even if the album fails as a whole, the potential for a truly brilliant song is always there with Placebo.

I don't mind Too Many Friends but Molko is still capable of writing some of the worst lyrics ever

I'm halfway through listening to this now, they really have lost the plot haven't they?! Some of the lyrics have made me cringe. :(

 

Oh well, they used to be good.

I suppose 'A Million Little Pieces' and 'Exit Wounds' are pretty good, but sadly that's about it. :(
