July 24, 201311 yr The big question is where suarez will go at the end of the window! I think he will stay where he is He is banned for like the first 7 games of the season so I don't see him going to the scum Real have sold Higuain but he is a totally different type of player to Higuain, Higuain is a Drogba type player, tall and powerful so if they want Suarez who is a midget they will need to change their system

Obviously it is gutting to lose a player of his quality, but he wants out and despite what everyone will say I'm confident enough we'll still be top 4 challengers without him. The major problem Liverpool have is there aren't many striker replacements left on the market that are proven to some level. Expect we want £50m+ to sell him to Arsenal and will probably settle closer to £40m to sell him to Madrid.

Sturridge was scoring for fun last season and you got that Borini bloke so I think you will still score goals even without Suarez if he leaves, can see you maybe re signing Torres, with Lukaku there and this new German and Demba Ba cant see Torres getting many games and a new club would probably rebuild his confidence

We've signed Aspas too who can play across all front three positions so I'd expect 10 goals from him this season. Still not sure about Borini, he's only young but he tends to drift in and out of games. We'll see, he was pretty much injured for the whole of last season. We won't sign Torres. He's past it, and would be on too high a wages. If we sell Suarez we'll surely replace him with a marquee signing. The guy from Shaktar was meant to be him.

Dunno about Torres Hasn't worked out at Chelsea but he scores a lot of goals still at international and CL/Europa, I think he still has it, would take him at Spurs if he was like 10m
July 24, 201311 yr Author Dunno about Torres Hasn't worked out at Chelsea but he scores a lot of goals still at international and CL/Europa, I think he still has it, would take him at Spurs if he was like 10m He's just not the player he was 4-5 years ago. His pace has gone, and while he's adapted better than Owen ever did when he lost that extra yard of pace he's just not good enough anymore to be a first choice player for a top team. His wages must be extortionate at Chelsea. I reckon he'll be there another season as Roman will probably want to try him under Mourinho. But Chelsea will have Torres, Ba, Lukaku, de Brynue and most likely Rooney next season. Not sure how all five will fit in.
July 24, 201311 yr Suarez definitely won't be at Liverpool next season, but I do find his eagerness to join Arsenal odd Yes they have CL, but I honestly expected him to be more ambitious. You'd think he'd want to wait it out to see if Madrid or another side challenging for titles were interested Although, it's possible that Arsenal have been encouraged to bid by his agent to then hurry other sides into making offers

You'd think he'd want to wait it out to see if Madrid or another side challenging for titles were interested Although, it's possible that Arsenal have been encouraged to bid by his agent to then hurry other sides into making offers I get the impression there were more teams in for him a few weeks ago, but right now it is only Arsenal and possibly Madrid. We'll see what the latter's next move is in the next few days, I expect they'll make an offer for him. Going to Arsenal would be silly, might even be a step backwards, I mean they're not even in the Champions League yet! Arsenal's negotiating stance is weird. If they want him they'll have to pay up, I can't see us settling easily.
July 24, 201311 yr As an Arsenal fan, hopefully he'll join. This whole negotiating thing is weird. I'm not really sure what's going on as their seems to be some conflicting reports. Apparently now Suarez and his agent says the clause in his contract means they have to accept the bid because Liverpool didn't get Champions League football. Don't really understand it. I also don't see the point of this clause about having to inform the player their has been an offer. Surely, a club will tell a player anyway? There seems more to this but I feel it's going to be one that drags on. Personally, I wouldn't pay over £40m (and the £1) because I feel he's worth around that. Deals like Cavani and clubs like PSG, Monaco, Man City and Chelsea are what have really ruined Transfers etc with them just throwing money at players. I mean £55m is ridiculous for Cavani and I wouldn't pay that for Suarez. I think Suarez will most likely leave, not sure where he'll end up. I don't think it's a step back. Liverpool are not a Top 4 competing team, more like a Top 6 or 7 imo. Edited July 24, 201311 yr by ConnorVICKERS

Liverpool are not a Top 4 competing team, more like a Top 6 or 7. The sheer fact that the clause has different interpretations is baffling. You'd expect Liverpool to be in the right though as their army of lawyers will be far greater than Suarez's team. We've rejected the bid and unless Arsenal pay £50m then I'm sure they won't get him. We've no need to sell, we can use the market of this summer to our advantage and he has 3 years left on his contract. It's boring and needless, but I don't expect it to be drawn out much longer. Either Arsenal pay what we want, or they'll have to wait another season. Spurs have done it before, Manchester United are doing it with Rooney. The real test is whether Real Madrid come for Suarez, but I expect they're waiting for Bale with Suarez as the fallback. We will be a Top 4 competing team this year, I've seen enough to say that. Granted we're the least likely out of ourselves, Spurs and Arsenal to get 4th, but we'll be miles closer this season.
July 25, 201311 yr The whole Suarez affair is one of the strangest transfer sagas I can recall. The fact alone that a clause can be so heavily misinterpreted is really shoddy work, now there's talk of the Premier League stepping in to resolve the issue too? As for Suarez himself, I couldn't see the Arsenal deal being a mind games tactic to push through a potential Madrid transfer. Twitter's rife (...I know LOL) with rumour of Arsenal holding back on potential Osvaldo deals, etc. to focus fully on getting Suarez to the Emirates. Would think the club would have a bit more about them than to steam in so mindlessly and so blinkered. Then again it's Arsenal. The ever affable and ever eager to be patronised whipping boys of the English elite.

I'm not sure whether Madrid are interested at all anymore, I think the bite saga scared away a lot of potential suitors. Not surprised really. Madrid seem focused on Spanish players, and they're going after Bale. Arsenal just seem intent on spending money on a striker. They're a truly bizarre club currently. Signing Suarez won't make them title contenders again. They need a proper traditional striker if they're going to buy one. Opportunism at it's finest.

Bid of £73m rejected from Real this week for Bale, Levy standing firm still, think Real wasting their time tbh lol
July 26, 201311 yr The longer this goes on the longer I'm seeing Bale as nothing more than a massive, massive bottler. Happy prancing about at Spurs, talk of mixing it with the big boys at a proper European hardhitter? No way. I don't buy that he's up there with the Ronaldo's or Messi's of this world (in fact I find 99% of the idiot whirlwind around him quite ridiculous) but his talents obviously should resonate slightly further than Tottenham and their 'ambitions'.
July 28, 201311 yr Author Spurs apparently turned down a £86m bid for Gareth Bale. One in what world is he worth that much. Two Levy is an idiot. Fair play for him turning it down though, although it's complete madness and and utterly appalling business decision. The papers seem to be going with Gareth Bale wants to push the move through.

We are punching above our weight, we have one of the smallest stadiums in the premiership, 35k capacity yet in last 3 seasons we have 2010/11 - Made QF of Champions League including beating both Milan sides along the way 2011/12 - Finished 4th in the Premiership, ahead of Chelsea the highest net spenders in premiership history 2012/13 - Finished 1 point behind Arsenal who have a 67k stadium with our 35k So for 3 years running we have made CL or cruelly missed out by a hairs breadth and there is no reason why we should not be fighting with Arsenal/Chelsea again this season We have bought the Brazillian Frank Lampard in Paulinho amazing goalscoring stats for a CM We are about to buy one of the best strikers in Europe in Soldado We have bought Chadli who averages nearly 1 goal per 3 games as a winger Sandro has resumed training and looks fitter than ever We have a brilliant young manager in AVB Arsenal have bought? - no one ;) Chelsea have bought a young german who may or may not be any good We have a great chance of making 3rd this season and with City rebuilding and doubts about how Moyes will handle the Utd job never say never...... Bale would be stark raving bonkers to go

Yep our top itk confirmed the bid We turned it down as we don't need the money, the Sky tv money and sale of Modric paid for Paulinho and Soldado and we still have plenty of money to spend. If Real come back and offer 100m then I have no doubt Levy would accept
July 28, 201311 yr Also Bale would flop at Madrid At Spurs he is the big fish, everything goes through him, the players are eager to pass the ball to him to work his magic At Real Madrid Ronaldo is the big fish, the player that everything goes through Bale would be standing on the touchline hands on hips as ball after ball is sprayed from midfield to Cristiano Ronaldo thinking angrily to himself "why didn't they pass to me" Going to Real is a fast track way for going from hero to zero
