] FutureSex/LoveSound -FutureSex/LoveSounds kicks off in a very different fashion to that of Timberlake's debut solo album 'Justified', where 'Señorita' opened with a latin-flavoured, poppy sound (a sound that didn't really showcase the album for what it was). 'FutureSex/LoveSound' makes it clear from the offing that this set will be nothing like Timberlake's last set, heavy synths, slick beats and vocals that echo mesmerizingly. The track is clearly Prince-inspired; maybe a little too inspired for some of Prince's core fanbase but Timberlae has been known to heavily sample his musical icons, Michael Jackson being one of the names in the ring during Justin's first solo LP. That said, the opening track is a corker and shows off Timbaland's emmense talent at producing, an excellently crafted opening track, not too long and certainly catchy, an excellent single choice (something Timberlake lacks with many of his songs on this album...) 10/10

] SexyBack - Its clear to see why 'SexyBack' was selected as 1st single when surrounded by the other album tracks, for one its of a decent, listenable length but moreover its catchy, fresh and puts an interestig spin on 'pop' music as it is today, once more awesome beats from Timbaland accumilate in one of the best pop songs of the summer. Already a hit in Australia and New Zealand and with the UK and USA expected to follow later this week. 'SexyBack' is good but like most American-mainstream songs, the curse of attempting to appeal to a mass-market is that the song's positive attributes wears off in time and you're left with a very repetitive, almost grating song. if the novelty hasn't worn off then I'm sure it will do in the next few weeks as radio/TV play this song to death. 8/10

] Sexy Ladies / Talk To Me Prelude A very 70's inspired track moves us on from 'SexyBack' and the beats continue to impress, but the vocals don't really go far here, a prize for the person who can count the number occasions 'Sexy Ladies' is said during this song, it sounds good but just doesnt go anywhere what-so-ever, fillerish is a word to describe it which is disappointing after such a decent start and a problem that plagued 'Justified'. The interlude follows and the beat is what it is all about, the vocals go nowhere but you still get a fun listening experience on the ears if you faze them out. All in all - repetitive and the first disappointing tracks thus far. 6/10

] My Love (Feat T.I.) The 2nd single to be lifted from FS/LS and is quite frankly nothing short of great. heavy synths and mesmerising vocals, 'My Love' has the right mix of chilled out and catchy tht creates an excellent track and a clear choice for 2nd single, even T.I.'s rap adds another layer to the track and works excellently in the mix of the song; something which is rare in a world of dodgy rent-a-rapper collaberations which plague the US music scene these days. This should do huge things internationally. 10/10

] LoveStoned / I Think She Knows Interlude This is the first track where the listener is hit by the true length of the album and some of its individual tracks. "LoveStoned / I Think She Knows Interlude" comes out at 7:24, a length that many will find off-putting from the beginning no doubt, once more the track repeats many of the lyrics throughout the song, this can do 2 things to the listener, either they get sick of it or the more likely option they are en-trapped, "LoveStoned / I Think She Knows Interlude" works so well simply down to the catchy nature of the song, if any critisism could be suggested it would be that the interludes be seperated, the only logical reason they seem to have been clumped to certain songs is that it makes the listener believe the album is shorter than it realistically is, but gets a shock when the entire album comes out at 1.2 hours. but I digree another decent track but something misses from it, a track that certainly would never work as a single. 7/10

] What Goes Around...Comes Around Interlude ****Stand-Out Track**** Well what can be said about this track? Apart from the fact it rules over the rest of the album. It may be the longest track on the album (at 7:28) but showcases the immense talents of the Lake/Land combination to the optimum level. Once more the catchy vocals entrap the listener, "This is the way its really going down" as well as many more. Excellent production and some of Timberlake's best vocal yet accumilate in the album highlight. Think 'Cry Me A River' but better. Way Better. 11/10

] Chop Me Up (Feat. Timbaland & Three-6 Mafia) This is where it all goes wrong, the arrival of faux-ghetto, featuring vocals from the Three-6 Mafia and more noticable vocals from Timbaland (his vocals feature throughout much of the album in subtle throws here and there in the same way as they did in Nelly Furtado's "Loose"). This is the first example of a truely disappointing track on the album, the lyrics are inspired and the raps add nothing to the song, unlike "My Love" which managed to fuse rap with singing in an inventive and origional manner, 'Chop Me Up' falls at every hurdle, with several beats that just don't mix and no hook to speak of this is the first track that can officially go in the dirge category. Abysmal. 3/10

] 8. Summer Love/ Set The Mood Prelude Another long track follows on from 'Chop Me Up' and the only significant difference here is that the faux-ghettoness is all gone; for now. Instead we are given that word that's become synonimous with Timberlake - filler. This track never goes anywhere from beginning to end, the beat even lets the song down with it's constant repetitive nature and dull tones. Timberlake's vocals also let the song further down (if that was possible at this stage, a lack of clarity and without anything interesting to say "Summer Love/ Set The Mood Prelude" falls onto the dirge/filler heap along with "Chop Me Up"...A pattern developing? 4/10

] End Of Time (Feat. The Benjamin Wright Orchestra) Once more an amazing beat follows this song through from beginning to end, courtsey this time of not Timbaland but 'The Benjamin Wright Orchestra' who provide an eclectic mix of beats throughout. Once more JT's vocals are pointless and fail to grab the listeners attenion, he could be singing about anything from girls to toilet cleaner, its unlikely the listener would notice either way. Filler. Again. 5/10

] Losing My Way After a run of appauling songs I was fully expecting another filler instead I was bowled over by what had drawn me to this album in the beginning. Timberlake's open with the words "Hi My name is Bob and I work at ma job" hit the listener and its clear from the offing this isn't like the average song, Timberlake through the means of rap/singing takes us through the story of one man and his struggles, the addition of a gospel choir adds another sweet layer to this song. Origional and different; the proof is truely there that Timbaland and Timberlake have a talent when brought together. One of the stand-out tracks from this set for certain. 9/10

] Damn Girl (Feat. Will.I.Am) The first thing to hit you about this song is the change in Timberlake's pitch when singing; it goes unlistenably high. The beat is clearly different; courtsey of producer and guest on track - Will.I.Am. This track moves away from origional thread that ran through all of the other tracks on the album, even those that were "fillery" in nature, the listener loses the excellent beats and instead is left with generic and throw-away RnB and the poorest track on the album. Disappointing in its entirty and unlistenable. 2/10

] (Another Song) All Over Again With the absense of Timbaland at the later stages of FS/LS the listener is left with the more usual work from a more typical producer. This is the only ballad that features on Justin's sophomore LP and is a disappointment. Lyrics that prove uninteresting and a real alck of empathy in any of the vocals leaves the reader truely disappointed. The title here is truely ironci and laughable, this is another song, all over again, Beyoncé's done it and with her just about the entire world of RnB. Just another end of album filler. 5/10

] Pose (Feat. Snoop Dogg) After the lax and sleep-worthy ballad that was "(Another Song) All Over Again", the listener is woken by horns and "crazy" keys. An almost 80's feels wafts through this song. Once more JT is lyrically poor and sings about nothing of any significance, its a flaw at the heart of the album, while the production is superb, lyrically some parts are just plain unlistenable/boring. 5/10

] SexyBack (Remix) [Feat. Clipse] The novelty remix, released to make the song more suitable for urban radio in the US. Basic and nothing new simply fills space on the album. 6/10

All in all FutureSex/LoveSounds provides a unique and interesting take on modern music, highly origional in all most all sections Timberlake has lost the boyish charms that ran through 'Justified' and matured into an excellent mainstream music artist. Some fantastic beats courtsey of Timbaland showcase his talents to the optimum. Excellent beats though cannot hide the very patchy lyrics and vocals in sections which leads the listener losing interest. FS/LS also features its fair few fillers which are made worse by the length of the songs. The length of the songs on this LP are their achilles heal, 5/6/7 minutes tracks lead to the reader losing interest once the song passes 4 minutes. Timberlake's repetitive vocals also cause annoyance and with the set drawn out to a full 1.2 hours many of the listeners are certainly likely to be put-off. The fusing of the interludes into the songs (even when the interludes aren't relevent to the songs that they follow i.e. Sexy Ladies/Talk to Me Prelude) gives the listener the obvious sense that they've been fused simply to make the album appear shorter, which simply isn't true. in reality this entire set is 18 tracks long.

A definite mixture of fabulous/decent/bad accumilates in a matured Timberlake outing and an improvement on his solo debut. Sections of this album could have been FAR better though.
