It makes me laugh. Every morning at like 3am we get all these threads about kitchens.

What? This is the first time 'Red' has received a proper, benefitial boost from a talent show, isn't it? So I don't think it's fair to include that song in amongst the likes of 'Read All About It', 'Iris', 'Skinny Love' et al.

Surprising that 'The Voice' has actually gone this way though. They actually had some pretty fantastic, inspired choices last year! ('Dakota' being the main one!)

'Ordinary People' has also only got one boost from a talent show (its current chart run is just due to an unusually lengthy period at 59p).

And I can't remember his name but I loved the guy who sang 'Dakota', partially because he got both that and 'Sweet Disposition' back in the top 40  2 absolutely incredible songs. Then he went and sang Maroon 5 and ruined it. Thankfully he went out that week and M5 didn't go top 40 :P (I did like his version of 'She Will Be Loved' though, it's only an unlistenable song when Adam Levine is singing it).

 73. Say Goodbye (In Memory of Drummer Lee Rigby) - Junior Turner

This could get pretty high.

I know very irritating :(

What are you doing so early? :o

Finally heard this song for the first time in a club. It sounds just the same as the studio version. It's weird how some songs sound just like thier normal versions, and others songs sound almost completely different.

Presumably because they sometimes play remixes in clubs?

Or even Bob Marley's "Redemption Song"

How is that version in any way a typical talent show song?

It's more that I go to sleep late than that I wake up early lol. I wish you guys wouldn't delete them, there'd probably be like 100 altogether by now!

I don't really hear remixes very much tbh. I think it's just because you're hearing them on such a big sound system, because some songs sound really minimal and quiet on the radio or when you listen through headphones, yet they they sound really loud and "full" in a club, but I think that's because of all the subwoofers making the bass really loud.

Urgh, I wish Iris would stop being used on talent shows all the time. Leave a legendary song to live on by itself.
I wonder if 'Beautiful' will see a surge this week when Radio 1 airplay finally kicks in.

I guess it will be a good test to determine Radio 1's influence for some of theolder artists.

Yay at their album climbing to #1 after initially debuting behind QOTSA! Now more confident they'll beat them again. Good to see the standard version climbing into the top 10 too.

'Voices' is an unexpected highest cherrypick, does Sasha Keable have a fanbase somehow? Or is it being used somewhere? Seems very odd for it to be ahead of the apparent next single and the collabs with bigger artists like Jessie Ware and London Grammar (maybe calling them big is pushing it a bit but still thought they'd do better than the Sasha track). Amazing to see Jamie Woon kinda back in the charts

'You & Me', 'White Noise' and 'Latch' all look likely to climb this week!

Its a cracking album, go download it. Would be interewsting to see this weeks download/physical break down in Alan Jones' chart analysis!

I have already downloaded it! (iTunes wouldn't let me 'Complete My Album' though annoyingly, even though I've downloaded all 3 singles. Hate when that happens). The album versions of 'White Noise' and 'You & Me' are shorter than the single versions which may explain that. Crafty bastards :P

And yeah I expect 'Settle' to be another addition to the list of #1 albums which sold 50+% downloads, if it does get to #1 at all that is. It should be mentioned if it does top 50% digital.

So we're looking at another week 150k plus for blurred lines. This year is incredible, and with some of the songs lined up for release and x factor still to come, we could see 600k struggling to reach the year end top 20

Yeah, it's normally in Autumn when we get lots of weeks over 100,000 (at least in 2009 and 2010 it was like that), whilst it's happening in Spring/Summer this year. I wonder if sales will be even higher during X Factor season this year, or if this is all just coincidence and they'll go back to normal.
