Posted June 11, 201312 yr Who else on here still loves the music of The Eagles then? Did anyone see History Of The Eagles on Sat. and Sun. nights on BBC2? Their 1976 album Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 is the best-selling album of all-time in the US with 29 millon sales certified. Recently regained the title from Thriller. What are your fave songs? Mine is Lyin' Eyes. A Gold DJ said yesterday that Take It Easy is probably their best known song but I disagree. Surely it's the brilliant Hotel California? Yes I saw it, hope it boosts sales! I was an early appreciator, back in 1972 when Fluff Freeman was pushing them on his rock show pre-chart-rundown, and yes Hotel california is far and away their best-known and best track. My faves though, Witchy Woman, the glorious One Of These Nights, New Kid In Town, Can't Tell You Why, Please Come Home For Christmas, and post-Eagles Dirty Laundry and the awesome Boys Of Summer, Don Henley's classic.
June 11, 201312 yr Author Yeah I like New Kid In Town too. The only studio album I have on CD is Hotel California and Very Best Of. Edited June 11, 201312 yr by Common Sense
June 13, 201312 yr Author I see the Complete GH is No.12 in the first midweeks. I wouldn't advise buying that as an ntroduction though as it's a sprawling 2-disc 33 track collection with qute a few tracks that just aren't as good as the hits. The single disc Very Best Of The Eagles is far better.
