Not the original Brian (he was a comedian). This one was a dead ringer for Columbo. Did he have a glass eye? Looked like it. Either way it was caught up in Easter sales with Blondie & Gerry Rafferty. They lost out, Brian & Michael didn't unfortunately & they sold 604,880 copies.

That's more like it. The kings of parody & having a go at some of the worse songs of 1978. It was Number 3 in December 1978....where the whole Christmas top 10, sold over a million combined & in any other year, the Knights would of sold enough weekly sales to be Christmas Number One! It sold 613,000 copies.

The single that did keep the Sex Pistols off the #1 slot...Thank Goodness. Even though the British Market Research Bureau, got his figures mixed up for the year end chart & he subsequently lost 200,000 sales in a gaff! Rod was Number One in May 1977 & sold 619,900 copies & obviously the BPI weren't too clever at spotting Rod's sales either! If you turned it over you got this:

A cover of the Cat Stevens song
