June 14, 201312 yr This is being broadcast on 4Music tonight 8-12:25, would be amazing if someone could watch it or record it and post up the chart. I'd do it but I'm just off to work now and don't have any record option with my Freeview I should be able to record it, but as to whether they'll give sales figures, that's anybody's guess...
June 14, 201312 yr I've seen a similar show on Kiss or Magic or something like that which gave sales for the best selling dance hits and it's been on each day I've had whatever channel it was on. So if this 4 Music show doesn't have sales, keep an eye out on other music channels!
June 14, 201312 yr This list should be good to see. I don't think I'll be here at 8, so I hope someone is watching it.
June 14, 201312 yr I recorded this earlier on Kiss and just fast-forwarded through it and wrote down all the stats... June 14, 201312 yr So now Fragma have sold 660k but in the Top 150 of the century (rundown in May 12 on radio 1) it missed the list meaning it sold under 586k at that point. I think a rethink has gone on here and they've added download sales and the 2008 remix. I just wish they'd be consistent.
June 14, 201312 yr Up to date to the week ending 18 May 2013, if you look back in Vidcapper's YTD lists (Week 19).

I think a rethink has gone on here and they've added download sales and the 2008 remix. I just wish they'd be consistent. This has always had conflicting sales - I seem to remember when Radio 1 counted down the Noughties End of Decade chart in the last week of 2009, they missed out Fragma, yet when UK Chart Plus revealed the list with an extra week of sales (first week of 2010, since sales for that week were from 2009), they had added in Fragma. So confusing!
June 14, 201312 yr Clarifying what is and what isn't 'dance' music is such a grey area and no one ever going to do a list that everyone's happy with, but it still seems unfair that a lot of these recent urban dancepop songs are grouped in with stuff like 'Sandstorm' and 'Latch'...does anyone really consider acts like Rihanna and will.i.am to be dance music? More like pop/R&B, but the genres have merged so closely since 2009 that you can make an argument for both. Saying that I suppose the same argument was going on in 2000 with the likes of Fragma and Sonique, both could either be called pop or dance depending on your viewpoint. The one that always surprises me when I see these lists is Operation Blade. Keep forgetting how well that sold through Christmas 2000, it's hardly the most commercial of releases...
June 14, 201312 yr Rita Ora's "R.I.P" considered DANCE?! Jiminy cricket... I can sort of see where they are coming from, it seems to have a bit of dubstep(?) in there. There is quite a few arguable ones, but I can understand why they would be considered dance in some respects.
June 14, 201312 yr By the way, it's a bit rich to exclude Madonna and Kylie but include Rihanna, Pitbull, and will.i.am just because they use harder EDM beats in there. I'd call "Hung Up" and "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" more dance than "Don't Stop The Music".
June 14, 201312 yr What strikes me is that they've put Guetta and will.i.am, even "Dirty Bit" right up the top yet they missed "I Gotta Feeling" which is about as 'dance' as a track has been in recent years.

June 14, 201312 yr I think that's exactly why they have included them - because they used harder beats. Why not include Madonna's "Music" then, which has harder beats than some of those "garage" tracks that were snuck in there?
