Did anyone else hear that Slim Whitman died yesterday? One of only six artists to have a number one single stay at the top for ten or more consecutive weeks (Rose Marie).

'Remedy' was a post-album single so there wasn't a single week of concentrated meltdowns over it. I think it actually did a lot better than most people expected.

Oh, I guess that's not so bad then. I kind of experienced that last year with Pound the Alarm and Where Have You Been (people were suggesting those could go to #1 and be bigger than the lead singles :drama:).

Tom Odell down to no 10. It didn't get a huge top 10 boost. Hopefully it will have some longevity.

Yes, I saw that on the news.

I hope you're very wrong Jack. :( Icona Pop need to be as far away from number 1 as humanly possible!

Sorry just had to correct your post Jon :P

I just checked out this song, and was *not* impressed. The guy has an incredibly annoying voice!

IMO Icona Pop will wipe the floor with him. :)

By the way he's white. :D

Yeah, from what I remember, it was one of the first songs to properly exploit the power of the 59p reduction. It was looking like it could miss the top 10 until it was reduced, so I think most people were happy for it to actually do well in the end.

328. I Love It - Remix Chix

517. I Love It (Extended Radio Edit) - Remix Chix

That multiple version SLAYAGE. Top 40 pls (as Remix Junkies won't be).

I wonder if Remix Chix are actually the same people as Remix Junkies, very similar tracklists

Icona Pop only getting 1 week at #1 would be fabulous.

...but if the song proves to be really popular it may reclimb to #1 the following week, or maybe two weeks after John Newman.

Anyways, I've got more incentive to buy 'I Love It' next week (if it really does get released). If it can outsell The Wanted I'll be very happy with their result even if Robin Thicke still outsells them both.

Strange that out of the 4 versions, the highest one is the least similar to the original. The "I Don't Care Remix" has a fair amount of piano in it, whilst the rest all practically mirror the original just are different lengths.

 52. Chris Brown "Don't Think They Know"

Some real quality music being released from Brown's upcoming album. Shame it's not doing as well commercially as the last two albums, a return to R&B is greatly appreciated by me ("Don't Judge Me" and "Fine China" are gems in his discography).

Hoping the EP sales (still at #8) will be enough to keep Tom Odell T10 officially. With Arctic Monkeys and Daft Punk's multiple versions, it should be Taylor Swift behind him officially (at #11).

Why is everyone so gassed about I Love It anyway? it's just 2:35 of shouting in my opinion.

...and 'Walks Like Rihanna' is just 3:22 of crap imo!!! :D

Therefore Icona Pop win because it's shorter (ie; less pain for the haterz) :P

I agree with this.

It's the menstrual teenage girls that are gonna be buying this song.

I actually don't mind 'Walks Like Rihanna', it's quite radio-friendly, and it's not BAD when I hear it on the radio.

Try listening to Capital and hearing it every 10minutes.

^ I think I hear it once or twice a day at work!

The video reminds me of Five though, when they put out brilliant 'Let's Dance' and disbanded shortly later. MAYBE that's the fate for the Wanted too!

The Wanted must pay Capital a bonus fee or something, their songs always get molested on that radio station/TV channel

I like this song and i think it's their best song. It also reminds me of my last year of primary school

They're signed to the company who owns Capital. It's the same with Lawson as well as Cover Drive who have since been dropped.

Any reason for the climb? Kinda wish it would somehow take off and become a decent-sized hit eventually
