First five off the top of my head:

1997: "Professional Widow (It's Got To be Big)" [Armand Van Helden Remix] - Tori Amos

2012: "Spectrum (Say My Name) [Calvin Harris Remix] - Florence + The Machine

1993: "Living On My Own" [No More Brothers Remix] - Freddie Mercury

1998: "Brimful Of Asha (Fatboy Slim Remix) - Cornershop

2003: "Are You Ready For Love (Ashley Beedle of Xpress2 Remix)" - Elton John

Any more you can think of? :)

David Guetta and Chris Willis feat. Fergie and LMFAO - Gettin' Over You (2010) is the only one I can think of aside from the ones you posted.
The most recent one would be the Calvin Harris remix of Spectrum for Florence & The Machine. Was I really the first to remember that?

Unless I'm missing the point, no you weren't, considering it is in the first post. :P

Nelly's Ignition is the first one that comes to mind.

I don't remember Nelly ever singing a song called Ignition. I think you're thinking of R. Kelly :P

If only R Kelly was Nelly. :( :kink:

The Sebastian remix of The Way I Are ended up with more airplay than the original.

Same with Beautiful Liar and the Freemasons mix, although I'm not sure which version most people bought.

Oh whoops! The fact 2003 was the last year in the list confused me

There was also:

DJ Sammy - Heaven (Candlelight Mix) - don't know if it got more airplay than the original though, but I heard it a LOT

Beyonce/Shakira - Beautiful Liar (Freemasons Remix) - again, heard both of them a lot, so I don't know which version got more airplay

Both sound the same to me. Not a fan of both of their discographies either.

Haha, no worries.

Katy Perry - ET

Little Mix - How You Doin?

Surely these count if so the add a rapper features must make up a lot of these.

I'm trying to think back to the Galaxy days when they played remixes of 'Red', 'Million Dollar Bill' and 'Happy' were played, but - rather unfortunately - these weren't number ones. :(

Not in a thread about Number One singles they don't.

'The Reflex' by Duran Duran is a remix of the album track, but of course in those days you couldn't have bought the album version as a single.
