To mark the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, an event integral to the plot of From Here To Eternity, the producers of the show are delighted that The Military Wives Choir will be joining the full company of the musical on stage to perform a curtain call rendition of the song in the show which is dedicated to the soldiers who lost their lives in the attack - Boys of '41.

Tim Rice will introduce the choir who will perform the number after the evening show on Saturday 7th December, the date on which the attack was launched.

This week also sees the release of a single version of another of the show's songs Fight the Fight performed by one of the stars of the musical, Robert Lonsdale. Released through Zobo records the song will be available to purchase through iTunes from 8th December, prior to physical release in New Year. For link to video please see below.

From Here to Eternity is running at the Shaftesbury Theatre, London until April 2014. The producers are actively looking for a home for the show thereafter and will be exploring options in the coming months. Adapted from one of the greatest novels of the twentieth century, this gripping tale of illicit love and army life unites the writing talents of Tim Rice (lyrics), Stuart Brayson (music) and Bill Oakes (book). It marks Tim's first new stage musical for over ten years and Stuart's West End début.

This new musical is directed by Tamara Harvey (The iamspamamispamwhoamspam Sink, Bush Theatre), designed by Soutra Gilmour (Macbeth, Trafalgar Studios) and choreographed by Javier De Frutos (London Road, National Theatre). The stellar creative team also includes lighting designer Bruno Poet (Frankenstein, National Theatre), sound designer Mick Potter (Phantom of the Opera, West End/ worldwide) and orchestrator & musical supervisor David White (LES MISERABLES, West End/ worldwide).

Darius Campbell (Chicago, West End) plays Warden, Siubhan Harrison (Grease, West End) plays Lorene, Robert Lonsdale (Anna Christie, Donmar Warehouse) plays Prewitt, Ryan Sampson (Open Court, Royal Court) plays Maggio and Rebecca Thornhill (South Pacific, UK tour) plays Karen.

The cast also includes Keisha Amponsa Banson, Marc Antolin, Julie Armstrong, James Ballanger, John Brannoch, Abigail Climer, Brian Doherty, Jessica Ellen, Dale Evans, Shimi Goodman, Kirby Hughes, Lauren Ingram, Dean John-Wilson, Joshua Lacey, Carolyn Maitland, Nuno Queimado, Lucinda Shaw, Warren Sollars, David Stoller, Rebecca Sutherland, Laura Tyrer, Adam Vaughan, Lauren Varnham, Stephen Webb, Matthew Wesley, Christine Allado, Martin Marquez and Yiftach Mizrahi.

Sounds promising. Would love to see The Military Wives, I bet it's really moving. Sue

With thanks to Susan and Sharon

Darius is at the Grand Hotel in Glasgow Central Station on 31st January. The event is called The Kiss Of Life and is an afternoon event. Lunch with entertainment afterwards. at a cost of £45 a ticket.

It should give Darius plenty of time to get back in time for the evening performance of FHTE.

Someone over on 'Whatsonstage' has posted that Tim Rice has tweeted that FHTE will be moving to the Garrick!!! Won't that be wonderful..... it will be like 'old times'!!lol! :D :yahoo:

Hope it's true!

FH2E future not all grim. We have to leave Shaftesbury April but if houses continue to improve we shall find a new home! Cast/crew on fire!

Can't find the Garrick one though

The Garrick is half the size of The Shaftesbury but it will be empty in May. The stage is smaller so I hope they find another theatre as even Chicago had to be squeezed in. They'd have re-choreograph the scenes. Sill, better than nothing.

I'll hope the person is wrong though and a bigger stage is available. It would be nice and close to the station though

I would. If they keep his songs how they are now, I'll be delighted. Marking Time didn't mention marking time and was sung in a wider range than just baritone. Very nice. I'd like to hear that one again

From here to eternity was on TCM movie channel today did any1 watch it?

No I didn't polly. Since the musical follows the book and not the film, I just didn't want to at this time
