October 13, 201311 yr hope you get sown to see it, we really enjoyed it, no review as yet - there were a couple of things we thought could have been tweaked- have no idea how it has changed so far or if this is a final version.
October 13, 201311 yr Author I think it's the idea that all the cast are the stars and not wanting to put one person in the position of lead
October 13, 201311 yr yup, that was the impression I got, there was no one main character - would love to see this in it's final form,
October 14, 201311 yr Author http://www.officiallondontheatre.co.uk/new...stuart-brayson/ That was at the beginning of the previews, it'd be good to hear what they had to say now
October 15, 201311 yr reviewa review from blog online finished off the week with another musical, getting to see a preview of From Here To Eternity at The Shaftesbury with my parents as they came down for the weekend. I knew little about this 1941 Pearl Harbor-set musical, based on the classic film (or more precisely, I think, on the same novel as the film was), but have been looking forward to it for weeks. First impressions were a little disappointing - it has a first half which, like the Light Princess, could perhaps do with losing 20 minutes or so. (It goes for eighty minutes and surely could get the point across in an hour.) The second act, though, is absolutely phenomenal. Darius Campbell and Robert Lonsdale's country-tinged I Ain't Where I Wanna Be Blues is brilliant and Ryan Sampson as Maggio steals every scene he's in, particularly with his outstanding performance of I Love The Army. As war grows closer, the show gets better and better, and The Boys of '41 had me close to tears, with the reprise nearly pushing me over the edge - surely the best new song of the last 5 years, if not longer, in the West End? In addition the choreography throughout the show is uniformly strong, and there's not a weak link in the cast. Well worth seeing! I think I could see a couple of scenes that could have been shortened a bit, one which hubby said went on too long, supriseingly a scene I wouldn't have thought he would have minded going on... October 16, 201311 yr Author Daily FHTE Blog: Another Day, Another...Lash! - Kirby Hughes (New Congress Club Girl) 16 October 2013 at 17:00 "Hang on in there kids, morning off tomorrow.." emails our fabulous Company Manager, Howard. Music to our ears, our first sleep-in in a while! My life at the moment is eagerly awaiting Howard's emails each evening, letting us know what we will all be doing each day. The last few days we have been rehearsing the new ending for Act One which went in the show for the first time last night. It had a lovely response but there is always a fear when you do a new change as you are thinking "is this right? Am I in the right place? What version of the song is this? Am I singing the right lyrics?" It's like first night nerves with every new change, giving you a great adrenaline rush. In our dressing room, before we go down to the stage, we do a check list of all the new changes and notes for each number. We also check little things like reminding each other to put our jewellery on! I love the era the show is set in. I adore my dresses, make-up, wigs and shoes (especially the ones with pom poms on them!) Some of us even got new dresses last night which was lovely. There is such a great company morale, we are one big family and I don't think I have ever laughed so much during a rehearsal/preview period. A very healthy balance of hard work and banter! I also understudy Karen so not only do I have to keep up with my changes, I also have to watch and learn Karen's line and song changes. This can be quite tricky if you are on stage with them at the same time or you are doing a quick change whilst they are on stage performing. We haven't started understudy rehearsals yet but I tried on my cover Karen costumes the other day and had a dialect coach session. Everyone in the cast has had private dialect coaching sessions to make our American accents as authentic as possible. It's quite a feat as we are a multi-cultural/multi-accented cast! What's on the call today…. filming some sections for TV and having press photos taken, then the show tonight. Better make sure nails are painted and that lashes, wigs and red lips are perfect! http://www.fromheretoeternitythemusical.com/blog/

October 19, 201311 yr Interesting. Quite positive about the musical in general although according to them the previews haven't been well attended. Not so positive about Darius. Not a big enough name!! Was his height the only thing they could comment on. Nothing about his voice or his acting ability. Really hope the shows gets good reviews on opening night. Sue
