July 2, 201311 yr Author They say that they aren't going to. The musical contains much that the film left out
July 2, 201311 yr I'm glad and it also won't be overlong and need constant cutting back like GWTW because Sir Tim has always said that 2 and 1/2 hours is long enough for a musical. Individual posters of the main characters came out last night, but I haven't found the one of Darius yet..
July 2, 201311 yr It's OK, megham. I found it on facebook. I didn't realise the page had had a name change. I'll have to play catchup there.

July 3, 201311 yr Thanks, megham. I've bookmarked the link. I haven't read the book and I can't remember anything about the film. I think I last watched it on VHS. However, I found the whole of the six hour long 1979 TV mini-series is on youtube. It starred William Devane as Warden, Natalie Wood as Karen and Kim Basinger as Lorene. *SPOILER ALERT*

July 4, 201311 yr Author I hope both do well. Who knows? I wont know whether I like either until I see them. I didn't like the film of GWTW and haven't liked the version of FHTE bt found but that doesn't mean I wont like the musical. I wouldn't take my Mum even if she was well enough. Hetro and Homo sexual love just wouldn't be acceptable to her
July 5, 201311 yr Author I don't know how long it'll run. It's usual that performers stay until the first 'booking to' date which is April but Darius has never done usual

July 6, 201311 yr Author It sounds as though this theatre is another one which loses some of the stage the further back you go.
July 6, 201311 yr I guess we need to rely on the set designer and director to take that into account. It seems to me that preparations for FHTE have been going on for a long time and it all seems much more organised than GWTW was. One song (Fight the Fight) has been recorded on a Michael Ball album and he is singing it on his current tour. The same song was performed acoustically by Robert Lonsdale (Prewitt) at West End Live. GWTW didn't even have a list of song titles for most of the previews.
July 7, 201311 yr Author http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertai...ce-8690951.html Sounds as though the music could(?) be jazz based
July 7, 201311 yr Author BT - GWTW was years in preparation. Jill had been waiting more than 3 years for the call
July 7, 201311 yr Not all of it. They've tried to span the musical influences of that period - blues, jazz, the very beginning of rock and roll, military music and traditional Hawaiian with ukeleles and slide guitars. Robert Lonsdale, who plays Prewitt, tweeted that he thought the show would be ace if a bit exhausting (for him). He knows more about the songs and book than most because he did the workshop.
